I have been a student of Michael's for about 7 years now, and I can say without a doubt that so far it has been the best learning experience of my life. In this time I have grown much faster than I had with my previous teachers; instead of just learning how to press keys, I have learned how to develop chords on my own, that even eventually lead into songs. Michael's methods of teaching are not found in your average piano instructor. Instead of memorizing songs, he teaches you to analyze the song, to put your own spin on it. Michael has taught me that there are no bad mistakes in music, only new ideas. From Jazz to Rock, there is limitless fun to music, and with a great teacher like Michael, you will go far.

The Michael Benson Band was the highlight of our wedding reception. Every person we've talked to said how awesome the band was. The band is amazing and can play anything. Michael personally made sure we were enjoying the music.

I have worked with David as a teacher of a Rock Band class and related Music Theory. He is knowledgeable, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and fun. He wrote his own theory book about improvisation which has been very helpful in making something which could be scary, both accessible and possible. In Rock Band he works with many kinds of instruments quite effectively.

RL is a phenomenal instructor. Besides his ability to shred, he is a master in music theory and can convey his knowledge in a very understandable way. He is well versed in all the genres, from jazz to rock and everything in between. He has had a huge impact on my playing. My lessons with RL are the most rewarding part of my week. Go Seahawks!

Band was absolutely amazing and with much better musicians at a lower price than other bands we checked out. They were able to learn and master our first dance songs on a last minute basis, play some unexpected live requests, and even allow our friends to join and sing on a couple tunes. Many people complimented the vocalist and the band in general at the end of the night as well. Highly recommend. I have background in music, and these guys know how to play.

The Rafael Tranquilino Band is one of the most versatile and exciting bands I have ever seen. Rafael's guitar work is inspired and he never ceases to blow me away! He also never plays a song the same way twice. You just never know what he's going to do. He is my favorite guitarist! Leah Tussing's vocals are this very cool combination of jazzy blues that brings a completely new vibe to every song she sings. Love her! They are a dynamic duo with some of the most talented rhythm sections in the PNW. I never miss seeing them when they are in Tacoma.

They did the best classics, and new stuff too, it was so fun! So nice to have a real live band and not a DJ. We were getting compliments on the band all night. Such a great time! Thanks Highsteppers, you rock.

We had Michael and his band play for a reception on New years Eve. The whole experience from booking the band through performance and breakdown was great. Very professional group and sounded great! My guests were thrilled. Would definitely use them again.

We hired Ryan and his band to play for our wedding. He was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We asked him to play specific songs, and he wrote out music for the whole group and they performed it perfectly! He made our magical evening truly one to remember. Would highly recommend Ryan and his band for weddings, corporate event entertainment, background music, and anything in between.

Lauren was able to accommodate a last minute request to play at my son's rehearsal dinner, when the musician we had hired had a medical emergency. As it turned out, I was SO much happier with Lauren and her harp than I would have been with a Jazz band - she provided the perfect accompaniment to an intimate gathering of close friends and family of the bride and groom. She plays beautifully, and I highly recommend her!
