Paul and Stephanie did an outstanding event at my home in Everett with my office staff and family of 34 people. The staff continues to comment on the excellence of the food as well as the service. The appetizers were exquisite and the buffet served dinner was truly memorable. There is nothing I feel could be done better. The bartender that they recommended was also perfect for our group, fun and entertaining and really made everyone feel very comfortable. Would definitely hire again. Thank you.

This was my first experience using a caterer, and it made all the difference in the world. I've always been tired and a bit overwhelmed when having guests over. I had invited 24 of my daughter's friends over to celebrate her 50th birthday with food and music. The food was tasty, the quantities generous and the price was about the same as one of the higher end grocers wanted for just fruit, veggies, and cheese plates.

Nola and her staff did such a fantastic job catering our wedding. From helping us plan to menu, providing a delicious tasting, answering questions about logistics and dietary restrictions, and providing stellar food and customer service to the day of the wedding, Nola and her team went above and beyond to make our day special. Our main entrée was fig balsamic glazed wild BBQ salmon with mango kiwi salsa. I wish I could make something this delicious myself, because it was amazing. Our salad consisted of organic mixed greens with julienned apple, shaved fennel, herbed crouton, and a really light but creamy bleu cheese dressing. They even made a separate salad with a different dressing for our dairy-free guests. The guest (and groom’s) favorite was our side: Beecher’s mac and cheese. So good! It was very stormy the day of our wedding, and a lot of things went wrong for us. Nola and her team went beyond the call of duty and helped out where they shouldn’t have needed to. They kept an incredibly positive attitude the entire time, conversed with guests, and helped reassure an incredibly stressed-out bride. The only complaint I heard from any guests was the portion-control at the buffet, but with a buffet we personally feel that was probably necessary. I had been concerned that people would take more than their fair share and leave guests at the end of the line with no food, and I’m sure that was the whole reason for starting out with smaller portions. I also heard that guests were invited to come back for seconds once everybody had been served, so I’m sure everyone got enough food. Overall, we were more than satisfied with Nola, her team, and the food. The food was everything we had hoped for, and the service was outstanding. We recommend them to anybody planning a wedding or other event.

I could not more pleased with the food and the professionalism of Chef Emme. In planning our corporate event for 70 people, she worked with us to create the menu that we wanted within the budget that we had available. Her professionalism was also top notch. I had not been able to secure chafing trays or enough canned heat to accommodate the order that I had made, but Chef Emme came prepared with extra supplies on hand to meet a need that I did not yet know I had. She even helped us set up the event and gave us invaluable advice on how to keep the food warm and delicious throughout our event. I highly recommend Chef Emme for her food, her service, and for the ease of doing business with her. It could not have been easier to document and pay our invoice, or to work with her on late changes.

Working with Angela has been an enlightening experience, one that has allowed me to clarify my goals and learn how to work effectively toward them. When I started working with Angela in January 2015, I felt scattered. I was allowing others to dictate how my time was spent. I wanted to find time to lead a healthier life, and yet I felt that the mundane tasks associated with my job as a professor--committee meetings or grading--generated too many obligations. Five months later, my conversations with Angela have helped me to understand the importance of scheduling time for everyday activities that bring me joy. Angela has greatly contributed to a new balance between my personal and professional life. I have found Angela to be a caring professional who seeks solutions tailored to your lifestyle. I am learning to prioritize exercise, healthy food--and writing, the professional task that I most enjoy.

My husband asked Bobby if he'd do a short notice dinner for us on Valentine's Day and it was an exceptional experience. The food he prepared was far better than delicious. It also felt more like a friend had come to our home and cooked for us vs some stranger we had never met. Normally I would not fear critiquing. However, I can't think of anything to critique. Having him as our chef was a blessing and by far one of my new favorite memories. I'd recommend him to anyone and everyone. Thanks again Bobby, you will hear from us again! -ShyAnne & Cody.

I'm so busy working a 9-5 and also being a full time musician that I have been living on fast food! Without enough time to plan meals, and having no idea what I should and shouldn't be eating these days, I hired Brett to take care of that (and BOY did she!?). Not only was she professional and on time (which is rare for us musicians 😂) but she didn't just give me a "run of the mill" meal plan. She discussed with me my eating habits and schedule and (for lack of a better word) designed a meal plan for me that was not only healthy, BUT DELICIOUS! I desperately tried to click on 6 out of 5 stars but instead my computer just yelled at me! WILL RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE!

I have worked out with many trainer, but have not had the success I have had with Nick. I appreciate his knowledge not only of working out but also of nutrition and supplements. He's easy to get along with and always shows up ready to work. He's very reliable, attentive and holds his clients accountable in a way that you want to succeed with what he recommends to meet your goals. He is realistic in his expectations and provides great examples of what has or hasn't worked not only for himself but his clients. He talks the talk and walks the walk. Can not speak highly enough of training with Nick.

I guess I should describe myself first: I'm a woman, I've hit middle age and my body and metabolism have totally changed since my younger days. I started having knee pain because of being overweight, so I began working with Paul to lose this excess weight, get healthier, and get in shape. I didn't want to hurry it or get stressed out (or excessively sore or starved). I wanted it to be a real lifestyle change, so we would meet for 30 minutes three times a week. And wow! In a year, he helped me lose 30 pounds and get strong and fit like I've never been before in my life!! I always looked forward to working out with him at the gym because he is so encouraging, positive, non-judgemental, and helped educate me about nutrition and fitness. I now know that eating good healthy food isn't hard to do, it just meant uting good food and weaning my taste buds away from super fatty fried & fast foods to actual foods that are not processed. So fantastic. (And "cheat meals " are ok as long as you plan for them!) Truly a life-changing, life-enhancing experience working with him. Working out and eating well were no longer a chore, but became a joy as I achieved my goals! Goodbye knee pain, hello the good feeling of post-workout muscle strength soreness (endorphins included)! Oh, another benefit: living in the dark Pacific Northwest, I found that working out in the winter completely got rid of the SADD. So: If you are serious about what you want and where you want to go with diet and fitness, Paul will get you there. And he's such a nice guy, too!

At the same time, she is mindful of any injuries one may have, and is never stumped for an alternative way to get the same workout in. I started personal training sessions with Amanda over four years ago. I had planned to learn a few routines and go back to working out on my own. I soon found out that Amanda was able to motivate me to work harder than I ever thought I could. Thanks to her nutrition program, personal training sessions and boot camps, I have lost over 40 pounds and at age 53 started running and completed six 5-K races. I am stronger and feel younger than before I met her. She knows everything about fitness and nutrition and is able to explain and motivate in so many ways. I owe her so much!

Dorrie knows how to prepare delicious food! She came to our home in Woodinville and made split pea soup that was mouth watering! Chicken, onion and tomato with a spiced curry sauce! And fried rice that my teenagers totally ate up! I enjoyed sitting and watching her make the dishes we wanted. And she welcomed my questions about cooking. Dorrie's personality is soothing and she listens to what and how you want your meals to taste like. We will be using her services again! Thank you Dorrie! Jeanne .A

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
