Phil did an exceptional job at our wedding. He played the steel drum at our outdoor wedding before the ceremony began. He played beautiful music of our choosing on the grand piano during our cocktail hour. Then D J'd the reception while playing a variety of live music on his keyboard and the steel drum. He played music of our choosing as well as requests from our guests. Phil knew exactly what to do and when to do it and performed with little or no direction. Our guests loved Phil and commented on how great he was. He provided and set up all his own professional quality sound and lighting equipment and even video taped his performance and the dancing. Thank you Phil for making our wedding so memorable.
As a vocalist in a worship band I wanted to improve my voice so I joined Sofia's lessons a year ago. My voice became definitely more stable after a couple of months and she helped me to discover my real register. Besides practicing scales she recommended me songs from different styles which I'd not thought before that I could ever sing. She gave me useful instructions how to perform. Because of her sensitivity she found the best personal examples for me. It was really a pleasure to take part in her lessons. We had lots of fun.
I rented a small hall and hired this band to celebrate graduations for myself and my son. Chris was great to work with. His message to me was 'this is your party and our band will accomodate whatever you like.' He sent me out a list of their pieces and I could choose the order if I wanted. I could also request the type of music that I wanted. Their performance was fantastic - sax and piano/voice with a synthesized drum. We had background music with dinner and danced following to absolutely great music. The band even stayed later because our party had a late start. Really great performers who are personable and a pleasure to hire. I highly recommend this band although I hesitate to make this public statement in case they will be booked when I want them to play for our next occasion :)
I've been playing music with Rory for close to a year now. While I've never taken lessons from him, as a fellow band mate I continue to learn while playing with him. Besides being an exceptional player, he also exhibits a calm and welcoming demeanor that every student will appreciate.
DJ Katie was absolutely amazing! She was smart, funny, creative and understood our wants for the music at our wedding and over-delivered. She truly worked with us to make our Wedding soundscape exactly what we wanted. She was unique, interesting and engaging---not just the typical cheesy DJ you see too many times at weddings. In fact several guests later asked me if it was possible to get a playlist of the songs she played. I cannot recommend DJ Katie highly enough. If you are getting married and need a DJ stop reading this and go hire Katie. It will be the second best decision you make on your wedding day.
The band was excellent, professional and perfect song choices for the event we hosted. I would gladly hire them again.
Wow, I have to sit down and write this review of Gene Greer and his band, Back Porch Revival, who played this past Sunday at my daughter's wedding reception. We wanted something that was not your run-of-the-mill wedding reception band, and boy, did they deliver. They started the reception with traditional bluegrass and original songs (more "new grassy"), then when we asked them to they stopped and let us get some toasts in. After that, they played two songs that they learned especially for us. Their rendition of "Annual Waltz" for the father-daughter dance was so good that dozens of people got up and waltzed with us. Since everyone was up and dancing they then started in on some up-tempo bluesy, bluegrass and country stuff. They played that second set for 3.5 hours, without a break, and were clearly having as much fun as the 100 or so guests who were dancing and cheering. One of our friends is a pretty good stand-up base player, and they let him play several songs with them. My niece is a club-singer and they let her take the mic and sing a couple of John Prine songs while they backed her up. It was a magical night, and the band was a big part of making the wedding so memorable. So many people came up to me later and complimented us on the great party, and our selection of Gene and his group. Well done, Gene!! I would hire you again in a heartbeat.
My Daughter went from never playing an instrument to being proficient on her trumpet in 8 months. Her band teacher is so impressed. Much of her understanding of music comes from her voice and trumpet lessons with Ms. Valardi. She is branching out into piano this summer and has even attempted to write her own solo. A music teacher that understands the excitement of a student and balances that with foundation is a wonderful thing to find. Ms Valardi is just that.
I initially hired Chance in his trio with Jarrod Lawson and Tryrone Hendrix on a whim; I found Chance on line, took a risk, and what a phenomenal find he was! He & his trio have since played at several events at my home. They are fabulous and truly gifted musicians! They add that extra level of positive energy and class to any occassion! Chance, as my contact has always been highly professional, easy to communicate with, on time, and accomodating. Should the occasion arise I would definitely hire Chance again!
Sarah did a one on one workshop with my daughter's band, Death By Thumb. She was able to connect with them immediately and help them sort out some issues they had as a band. Then they went right into song writing. Polished off one and started another all in a two hour period. One song called Mirror was performed just a few weeks later at the Analog Theater in late November. The band members have a lot respect for her and admire what she is doing with her own career. The kids want her to come back as soon as possible! Thank you Sarah, and we hope to see you soon!!
This band is great. An amazing playlist and performance that had everyone dancing and singing along. This band provided marketing materials, performed multiple sound checks, and was extremely professional. We feature many local bands, Cool Change is considered one of the best who perform at Pacific Growlers.
Carlos is an amazing guitar teacher! Our son learned so much over the years with Carlos & currently plays in two high level Jazz Bands! Thank you Carlos! xoxo The Ball Family

We are Portland's premier classic rock, R&B, and nostalgic music band that's available for clubs, casinos, weddings, corporate parties, or any event. If you need great music played by awesome, highly talented musicians, call us!
Our band provides live music entertainment. We perform for nightclubs, weddings, private parties, community events, and special functions. Our genre of music is r&b, funk, blues, smooth jazz, Latin jazz, and bosa nova.
Three things: First, our song selection. We don't perform a song unless we're both really crazy about it -- and we find that our audiences relate very well to the music we choose. Second, Matt's banjo and dobro playing. He's simply great on his instruments. Third, our vocals. We believe that harmonies are a special attribute of music, and we work hard to make them both precise and musical.
We're a female-fronted rock band, bringing a combination of classic and modern rock. Imagine the soul in Bad Company meets female angst of Alanis Morissette. We entertain children's birthday parties, wedding anniversaries, and just-rock venues. We guarantee smiles on your lovely faces! Grandpas can rock with us!
I can have music produced and recorded. I play on drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, and have a lot of studio gear. I am looking for an online job. I do mixing or mastering too.
