Song is extremely prompt, professional, competent, and very fair. I would hire him again without question! I found him on Thumbtack to repair a damaged chinese hand-carved chest in Portland. While he was there he fixed several other pieces of furniture I realized he could fix, once I saw his work. He is eager, flexible and has pride in his work.
Eliseo came out to fix leak damage in our ceiling and remove wallpaper, repair, and retexture a wall. He did an amazing job and was terrific to work with. We have some other work that we'll need to have done in the future and we will definitely be giving him a call!
I asked Chris Wilhelm of Compass Home Repair and Renovation to install a utility sink in my basement. I had recently done a renovation restoring a bedroom, bathroom suite along with adding a washer and dryer for a a tenant. I didn't think about a utility sink, as part of that renovation which is a useful thing to have for larger and dirty clean-up projects. I only had a sink. There was no drain, no spigot or faucets. He dropped by my home to get an idea of the job's specifics and returned a week later. Chris installed the sink with a few hiccups along the way (such as trying to figure out how to turn off the water--not his fault--the recent plumbing was unlike anything he'd ever encountered. The sink works beautifully, and he integrated it next to the washer/dryer without taking up any additional space in this storage area. Best of all is the hose attachment, which insures that hard-to-reach spaces can be reached without effort. I've already hired Chris to do some restoration of my porch steps, which is due to be done this Saturday.
Our toilet needed a new wax seal, and Corey was quick to respond and repair! His next day service was prompt, and the toilet is no longer leaking. Thanks, Corey!
Good work and response in time for repair.
I needed a sliding window repaired due to the frame pulling away from the glass. Stacey put in a bid right away, and since he was near my home at that time, he showed up right away. He assessed the situation and got his tools and fixed the window. He did a good job and it was a good experience.
Keenie helped us repair a broken sink garbage disposal. He was very personable, honest, and reasonable. I would not hesitate to use him again.
Daniel replaced a window at my house that had been broken into. It was a 1950s window with weights and sashes, so it was a little involved getting the old window out, and the new window framed correctly and put in. He installed a nice Pella vinyl window! I love it! He worked in the freezing cold to finish the job, which took longer than anticipated, without as much as a single complaint about any of the circumstances (or my dogs!) I've dealt with several unreliable, poor-communicating contractors over the past year, and Daniel was head and shoulders above them in terms of responsibility, punctuality and work well done, just as he said it would be. I am very pleased with his work, and I would highly recommend this very nice, self-sufficient, and reasonably priced contractor to my friends and family. Thank you, Daniel!
I hired Logan for a gate repair. He did an excellent job! He was on time, on budget and the work was just what I needed. Logan was professional and easy to work with. I have additional jobs I will offer him!
We hired Alfredo to paint our entire home, including ceilings! From day one of obtaining a quote, Alfredo was very much a professional with superior work ethics. He and his crew quoted just a little over a week to complete this job, and stuck to his word! He also consulted and provided the best info on paint types and his discount on purchasing paint. During the project, they covered everything to ensure that there was little to no paint splatters on furniture and floors and then cleaned up all plastics and tarps when complete. They took the time to ensure that edged were clean and I have to say - our house looks WONDERFUL! Alfredo was always responsive and even worked a weekend to help us take out a built in desk, and then repair the wall! I will definitely hire him again!
Cody Walton not only has excellent skills he's also a good problem solver. He has extensive knowledge in most areas of home repair. Working on an hourly rate he doesn't "dilly-dally" yet he works in a methodical fashion. Cody is also very personable and fun to have around. I would definitely recommend him.
Lino did an excellent job of cleaning up and preparing my rental house for occupancy after it was vacated without being properly cleaned or cared for. He did major cleaning in the kitchen, painting and wall touch-up in the living room, minor cupboard and storm window repair; and cleaning of gutters and debris left behind by previous tenants. He came to the job exactly at the time promised, worked diligently, and completed the work on time. He asked me about a couple of things I had overlooked--and agreed to take care of them. I was completely satisfied with the quality, time required, and cost of the work Lino completed. I will definitely use him again and have no reservations in commending him for the good work he did on my house.
Miguel Hernandez has done a tremendous amount of work for Lents Baptist Church. We still own the parsonage in the expectation that we would someday use it for church activities. The day has not come. In the interim we rent the house out. The house is a four bedroom two bath house. The last renter caused a lot of damage to the house. Miguel was right there to take on the responsibility and work of repairing the house. He washed all the walls, ceilings and floors. He repaired holes in the walls. Then he primed the walls and ceilings. Then he painted them. The floors in the main living areas are hardwood and he sanded, stained and sealed the floors. He laid tile in the bathrooms, kitchen and dining room. He replaced all the interior doors and the front door. New trim was installed between the walls and floor. We had water damage in the entry way to the church. Miguel repaired the walls and then painted the area. All his work was very good.
We talked to three people for hardwood floor refinishing quotes (500 sqft), two from Thumbtack and one friend of a friend. The bids were all pretty similar; Martin's was a bit higher but we selected him because he was the only one of the three that seemed to care about the long term quality of the floors. He also did 5 layers of varnish vs 3 (the other two companies.) He (was the only one who) took moisture readings of the floor boards and the results determined a different direction for repair. Instead of replacing the damaged and stained pieces, he used wood filler and dark walnut stain... the most cost effective direction to go. The floors turned out great, smooth and even. We'd recommend him to others. He (and his worker) got in right away (working days and nights) completing the project in a week, which was great for us as we had time to get the floors done before moving into our new house. My words of advice: Communication isn't his strong suite and information doesn't always come across clearly in emails or texts. It may take a few times to get all the information; and because he understands his business very well, not everything he said made sense (at least for me). He speaks very fast, so ask questions if you want clarification. He runs full speed ahead on his own schedule, but he does care a lot about his work and wants to make sure it's done well.
Emmanuel did a great job on some on some home repairs that were greatly needed and was extremely friendly and professional.
We bought our home last June. I hired Israel to fix a broken sprinkler pipe. He went through my whole system and not only fixed any problems, but found and uncovered several sprinkler heads that were buried under grass. We no longer have a "mushy weird spot" in the center of our lawn. We have since hired Pro Service Landscaping for a retaining wall and regular maintenance. Nice, professional, and does a good job!
Did a big job on our house. Windows, siding, paint, fence, and moved a window in place of a French door and also added a window in the master bath. Also has some dryrot repair that needed to be fixed but we assumed that during the walk through. Had a few hiccups during the project which added a couple weeks to the deadline we agreed upon but still came out to our satisfaction. The only problem that I have is the team is a little disorganized but still did their job. He added some stuff along the way at no cost which was nice because with the size of our house and the amount of windows it was not cheap but not as expensive as the other bids we received. All in all we were completely satisfied with the craftsmanship and perfection that we received.
Duane fixed a roof leak at my home. I felt he was thorough in assessing the location of the leak and expert in his repair. At first glance it seemed to be a flashing issue but turned out to be a larger problem that Duane uncovered with his keen assessment and repair skills. He also worked expediently and diligently. I am very pleased with the result today. Excellent work!
Brian Lyne built a small summer cottage for me years ago, and he did all of the work himself - digging and pouring footings, framing and closing, installing insulation/cupboards/sink/toilet/shower/windows, roofing, siding, and staining/painting. I have since sold the property, but I know the current owners are happy that he had the forethought to pour extra footings for eventual expansion. They have expanded the cottage according to his original plans, and enjoy the house throughout the year. Brian is an honest, thoughtful, skilled, hard worker. I highly recommend him.
We hired John for a variety of projects from remodeling to water intrusion repairs. John is a true craftsman, which is rare in this current culture of quick profits. He has an excellent analytical mind and a sharp eye for details.
I have used I Bl as a general contractor for 3 years now for work on residential and commercial jobs of various sizes. They have done complete remodels to convert four of my apartments into Airbnb units, as well as helped me to fix up several houses I have sold. I also own some commercial property and they have helped me with a variety repairs and I have referred them to tenants and friends, always with great results. I have used many different contractors in the past and no one I have worked with can compare to IBI Construction. They are knowledgeable and skilled and as a result can see problems with underlying conditions before they become worse and if this happens in the middle of a job they clearly explain the situation to me and tell me what my options are. When we set up a job and decide on the scope they get right to it as soon as possible and don't tell me they are booked out for 6 months. One of the things that sets them apart from other contractors I have used is they always make sure to have all materials and subcontractors ready to go before they start, this makes my job so much easier as I can actually make plans and schedules and not have to worry about long delays. After work begins they are great about keeping me informed about how the project is going and any modifications to the scope are clearly defined and the schedule is kept up to date. Most important of all, I have learned that I can count on IBC to give me straight answers to my questions and not try to take advantage or overcharge me. I have never had a problem with the quality of work and they always meet or exceed my expectations, for all these reasons I trust IBI Construction and I recommend them highly. If you are looking to have a low stress experience on a construction project, residential or commercial these are the folks for you.
