About this pro
As the owner and operator of the studio the quality of the instruction is my primary concern. I always look to innovate and increase the quality of my students. I don't have anyone that provides final instruction that is not a paid full time employee. My goal is to ensure that any technique learned in the hall is reviewed by myself to ensure consistency in training. You won't find a "McDojo" here. Our art is also unique in that the concepts and creation of the style has a rooted concept in traditional Chinese martial arts. We also believe that adult students should learn new techniques through one on one instruction. We value that so much that our adult tuition rates include that instruction. All techniques are learned on a one on one basis with a higher belt or directly with the Chief Instructor. Before any promotional rank each technique and concept for every student is reviewed by the Chief Instructor so you ensure that the knowledge you received is correct and consistent. The moment in which a student reaches epiphany. The art is not an extension of the teacher. It is it's own living breathing entity. It is not about the person standing at the front of the class teaching. It is about passing on knowledge so the art can grow and expand through its students. I often learn more from them than they could ever learn from me.

- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am always continuing my training through my teacher in Moh Pai as well as Wudang Jian, San Shou, and Shuai Jiao (wrestling, submission fighting).
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I started as a student in this very style. I had been a gymnast, competitive diver, wrestler, shoot fighter, and dabbler in many styles. I was given the opportunity as a Chief Instructor after 7 years of training and sadly that school closed in my area. With nowhere to train the students looked to myself and another instructor to continue our teaching and Seattle White Tiger Kung Fu was born.
- What types of customers have you worked with?Fitness instruction, technique training, and martial arts application and concept development.
