No joke folks. Young, good looking, talented, why is he single? Oh sorry wrong profile description... Seriously, Scott is a humble badass, and a great instructor to boot. My former coach would still have me on 'row row your boat' whereas with Scott after three lessons, some footwork at home and I knew the pentatonic in the Key of Geeee, in no time. I hate reviewing shit due to every opinion is connected to an anus. This is a no bs review.scott is gifted. He makes badass guitars too. How many coaches can build wicked machines as well as teach... not many. Thank you

I didn't know I could get my training so quickly, easily, and inexpensively. For the first time in my life, I feel like I walked away from a CPR training course, confident that I would be able to remember what I need to do in the event of an emergency. Cameron spent time actually discussing how to deal with your initial instinct to panic, which will undoubtedly be the hardest part of any emergency but seems often neglected in other programs. He cut to the chase and gave a fantastic lesson, I would highly recommend getting your training with Cameron.

Before I met Jordan my singing was mediocre at best. I did not understand support, resonance, or how to manipulate dynamics. After only 1 lesson I saw immediate improvements. Within one hour I had learned how to achieve twice as much breath as I had before. After a week I realized that I had high notes and after a month my voice was consistent enough for me to record arias and apply for summer programs. Jordan is the most patient and kind teacher I have ever had. She does not scream at you or get frustrated when you don't grasp the concept right away. She truly cares about her students and her technique is not "one size fits all". Each student has different needs and she understands that completely. I am so lucky to have found Jordan because there are no other people, let alone teachers like her that can inspire the kind of improvements that she has in me.

Ken was able to create a teaching method designed to teach a visually impaired student. I'm amazed on how simple yet effective his methods are. Lessons were FUN yet productive. I can't emphasize enough the value of having a professional recording studio/engineer/teacher offered through Ken Fordyce and Mirror Sound Studios.

He's very patient and easy to understand. If he didn't know a song that you wanted to learn, he would learn it for the next lesson. He's very professional and didn't waste your time or money talking about things that weren't relevant to the lesson. If he didn't live so far away, I would definitely still be taking lessons from him. You should try him out. You'll be glad you did. He is a gifted instructor.

Taking guitar lessons with Matt was a great experience. He had extraordinary patience with me as I slowly learned, and had great advice to encourage me through the process. Matt recognized when I wasn’t grasping a concept, and used creative strategies to help me along. He is a very talented guitar player, and just as great of a teacher. I would highly recommend him.

My daughter has only had two lessons with Aaron, so I do not have a long term relationship to base my review on. However, I can say that Aaron was very prompt at returning my emails and phone calls . Very professional in how he approached making financial arrangements and scheduling our lessons. He provided references for me to check with. He offered a complementary initial lesson. And perhaps most important, when I pick up my daughter from her lesson she has a smile on her face and says Aaron is very nice.

Our daughter has taken voice lessons with Aaron for about 3 years and really loves her time in his studio. Aaron has a wonderful ability to connect and has really helped her become the confident singer she is today. Bitterlake Studio is an extremely warm, positive, safe and inspriring environment and Aaron is the most supportive teacher. He is a very talented musician and a passionate and artistic person. His presence puts her at ease with a confidence to explore her strenghts and weaknesses. We are so grateful for Aaron making it a challenging but very fun learning experience for our daughter.

Little Bird Piano is absolutely the best! We have loved every minute of working with Holly and after just a few short months of very little to no previous experience my doughter has learned so much, in fact she has learned the necessary tools to be able to sit at the piano with an open songbook and teach yourself most any song she wants! She has gained a love for music and that love has spred throught the family. My son who has repeatedly told me he will not take piano has resently just asked if he can start lessons! We have been so happy with the knowledge my doughter has gained we can’t wait for my son to start as well!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is CPR training?

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (better known as CPR) is a lifesaving manual technique that pumps oxygenated blood back into the body’s organs if someone’s heart or breathing has stopped. A variety of CPR training is available to community members, employees and healthcare providers. CPR training may last two to five hours or more, depending on the content and the target audience. During the training, students will learn how to recognize and respond to an emergency situation. There are different CPR techniques for adults and children, but with both you will learn how to determine whether the person is conscious before administering chest compression. During the training you’ll learn chest compression techniques for adults and different techniques for children between the ages of 1 and 8. Students learn how to properly administer chest compressions, when the technique is appropriate and when it is not, and how long you must perform rescue measures. Students also learn what an automatic external defibrillator (AED) is and how to use it if necessary to shock a patient before administering CPR chest compressions.

How do I become CPR and first aid certified?

You can earn CPR training and receive first aid certification in a number of ways. Choose an online course to learn the materials remotely and then find a testing location to complete the certification process with an in-person demonstration of your knowledge and skills. Encourage your workplace to host a first aid and CPR training so employees can learn what to do in case of a workplace emergency and how to respond with lifesaving techniques. You may also be able to take a CPR or first aid class in your community. A basic CPR training may run four to five hours. After receiving CPR training, you’ll know how to respond if an adult or a child goes into cardiac arrest or stops breathing. You’ll learn how to use chest compressions to keep blood pumping to a person’s organs, which can keep them alive until an emergency responder can arrive. First aid and CPR training can also include education about how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

What does a Spanish tutor do?

The goal of a Spanish tutor is to help students improve their Spanish reading, writing, comprehension, and conversation skills. The tutor’s approaches may vary, depending on whether the instruction is individual or a group class. Many Spanish tutors practice immersion — meaning they will speak only Spanish with their pupils. For students with little to no Spanish experience, the Spanish tutor may use a mix of Spanish and English to accustom their students to speaking the language.

A Spanish tutor can offer a wide range of services to their students. For students currently enrolled in a Spanish class through their middle school or high school, a Spanish tutor can help them with homework and language practice, as well as expanding their understanding of their current school curriculum. For adults, Spanish tutors will have different approaches based on that student’s need. Academics and those seeking high-level professional development for their career will often have more intensive and targeted lessons, drills, and interactive speaking tests. For adults who wish to learn conversational Spanish for fun or for travel, lessons may revolve around learning commonly used phrases and practicing speaking in relaxed settings.

What is first aid training?

With first aid training, you may be able to help save a life. First aid training can teach people who are not medical professionals how to help a sick or injured person in crisis before an ambulance arrives on the scene. Most commonly, first aid training helps teach you how to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

First aid training can teach you how to respond in a variety of emergency situations, including:

  • Asthma attack
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Burns
  • Choking
  • Diabetic emergencies
  • External bleeding
  • Heart attack
  • Poisoning
  • Neck, head or back injury
  • Stroke
  • Seizure

First aid training classes may be offered by professionals who are affiliated with the Red Cross, which offers online, in-person, and blended training classes. First aid classes are also often offered through local recreation centers, city services, schools, hospitals and private companies.

How much do Spanish tutors charge?

Nationally, the average cost for a Spanish tutor ranges from $30 to $40 per hour. The cost for a Spanish tutor can vary depending on whether you choose private instruction or group lessons. Geographic location can affect cost; tutors in expensive cities and pricier regions command higher rates than in rural areas and small towns. The experience and education of the Spanish tutor will also affect their rates. For adult education, many people learning Spanish choose to join a Spanish school with tutors who teach group classes and also offer private tutoring for students. Typically these schools charge a monthly tuition that gives students access to a set number of classes per week, with private tutoring available at an additional cost. One example of an average cost is a monthly tuition of $200, which includes five 90-minute group lessons per month. Monthly tuition can vary depending on the school and the teachers. Short-term workshops are also a way to learn Spanish. Students may work with a Spanish tutor and group of other students at their skill level for a short period of time. One example of an average price is $100 for an eight-week course, with one 60-minute group class per week.
