Your Accounting Department, LLC
About this pro
I am a new business owner and hired Rob Clark of Your Accounting department LLC to handle my payroll and quarterly taxes. I had absolutely no idea how to handle the any of this. I had a lot of questions and Rob was always very patient, taking time to explain what was involved and what he needed from me to get his job done. Turning over access of my business bank account to someone I hadn't yet met was slightly uncomfortable. Rob readily agreed to meet with me in person at his house so we could have a face to face and get to know each other. We have been collaborating for several months now and I would be happy to recommend Rob to anyone needing an accountant.Jun 4, 2016
Rob is kind, professional and I can always count on him to get back to me in a timely fashion. He has been such a great help to my business. I HIGHLY recommend him.Dec 21, 2015Verified
My first call with Rob Clark was to understand his experience and explain what I was looking for. Within a few hours of the call, he informed me that he has put together a workflow that he would like to discuss the same. I decided to meet him in person and I was impressed with the well-designed for my specific inventory accounting needs. He was well-prepared and I decided to engage him right there. He helped me clean up my books for both inventory and payroll taxes and gave me additional tips on keeping my books well-organized. Overall, a very positive experience.Dec 17, 2015Verified

It took me awhile to decide which accountant I was going to use as my business is new. Rob came to my home and spent hours working with me explaining the basics of accounting to build a foundation for us to move forward. He has an attention to detail that I really like, and isn't afraid to say to me "Todd, that isn't a good idea and here is why...". I appreciate that approach and it causes me to trust him with my money. He handles my payroll, accounting and has me hooked up with Richard Bologna (who Rob recommended) for my taxes. Between the two of those guys, I am quite comfortable to operate my business without worrying about my accounting. I highly recommend Rob Clark for your accounting.Aug 6, 2014Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My base rate is $80.00 per hour. For long-term engagements, I offer a 3-month introductory rate of $60.00 per hour. It allows clients and I to get to know each other a little better. However, I have found that working on an hourly basis does not create the best customer experience. Whenever possible I like to develop a flat fee that the client can feel comfortable with and budget for. In addition, I feel that I can talk with the client, discuss business issues and answer questions and not feel pressured about billing issues.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I started getting my bachelors degree in Business with a focus in Accounting. After over 30 years in the accounting field, I am still looking for ways to improve my skills. I have become an Advanced Certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor for the online version. I have been certified in the desktop version since 2013. Currently, I am working on obtaining my Advanced Certification for the desktop version. In addition, I am constantly looking for ways to use technology to make my business more efficient. I find often that my exploration leads me to find technology that helps my clients become more efficient. Tools like Smart Vault, Aero Workflow, Bill.com, TSheets, File This Pro and many others will provide cost-effective solutions for business needs.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?Numbers speak to me through their relationship to each other. I started in the Retail Industry and rose quickly to become a manager of a $1 million department by the time I was 23. I then found my calling in accounting and finished my university studies with a focus in Accounting. By the time I was 33, I was the CFO for a $100 million company. I have found that numbers can tell you about a company in prosperity as well in danger. It is my commitment to you to inform you about what your company's numbers are telling me about your business. After 4 plus years as a business owner, I have 3 part-time employees, over25 clients I billed last month and a business that brings in over $100,000 per year and still growing to meet your accounting/bookkeeping needs.
