Jordan is friendly, professional, and supportive. She uses music that I'm passionate about in order to teach the skills and fine tune technique. If you are thinking about singing for the first time or hoping to expand your present skills, Jordan is the right teacher for you!
My experience studying with Dr. Liz Frazer was absolutely incredible! She is extremely knowledgeable of the the voice and how it works, and I have always loved and appreciated her creativity when it comes to exercises for developing and building a voice. She genuinely cares about each and everyone of her students, and she wants to see them grow and be successful. I've seen her work with people at all different levels and stages of their voice, and her commitment to the individual success of each student was an amazing and inspiring thing to witness! I hadn't had much experience singing when I started studying with Dr. Frazer, but she invested in me, believed in me, challenged me vocally, and helped me to build up the confidence I needed! Thanks to my time with Dr. Frazer, I am now continuing my education in vocal performance while working professionally as a singer. No matter what your end goal is for taking voice lessons, if you have the opportunity to study with Dr. Frazer, do it!
She can get anyone to sing! One of my daughters couldn't hit a note when she sang. After a few lessons with Ms. Harwood, she can!
Anna is very knowledgable and explains techniques clearly. We have a lot of fun at our lessons, but at the same time quite a bit of progress is made.
I've been taking voice lessons with Christine for a few months now, and it's been an amazing experience. I'm a total and absolute beginner, but Christine knows perfectly well how to teach beginners (or people at any level for that matter, since she has a degree in music education). In a few months we've already seen noticeable improvement in my voice. Christine's been helping me develop the correct vocal technique right from the beginning, so that I don't develop bad habits that are difficult to correct later. She is also an outstanding teacher - she immediately notices/hears my mistakes, no matter how subtle, and corrects me right away. Or if she notices me getting tired, she stops the lesson right away, even if I don't notice it myself. These are very important things for a beginner in my opinion. She also shows me many tricks (both physical and psychological) that I can use to make my voice do the right thing. And she has a variety of exercises that help with different aspects of developing your voice. Finally, she's a great person to work with - very cool-minded, always smiling/laughing/joking, never yells or gets angry, calmly moves on to something else if one thing doesn't work, and has the rare and wonderful ability to point out mistakes without making you feel bad. She is also a very good listener - always willing to answer my questions/comments. At a personal level, she's a fun and interesting person to get to know, and talk to. I think everybody can benefit from voice lessons, even if you think you're no good at singing. And I think Christine is perfect for the job. I highly recommend her!
Having been into singing for around 5 years now, I've found out about a market of products created for the purpose of studying the art of singing at home. Being a serious student of singing, I decided to invest in one of these programs to supplement my lessons. Singing Success got me absolutely nowhere. After a couple of weeks, I completely stopped using it, because there was no direction. Around 2 years later, I decided to try out CVT. It offers a book, along with recorded exercises. It was much better, but it still felt like something was missing. How was I to make sure I was doing everything right? The forum was dead. I had been studying singing for a few years, and this was something still on my mind; not having somebody ensure you were practicing the program properly. I cannot imagine how much less confident an absolute beginner might have felt, facing the same thing. Around a year later, I stumbled upon The Modern Vocalist Forum. Observed Robert Lunte provide very detailed feedback on several submissions by aspiring singers. I was pretty impressed with how things were broken down. I had already known about The Four Pillars of Singing, for a while, and I thought it wasn't for me. After seeing an explanation on how it could be used to transform your head voice into something that sounded strong, while still retaining full use of falsetto, I was intrigued enough to take the plunge. After a few months of ownership, I have absolutely no regrets. The Four Pillars of Singing is the only system out there that offers a comprehensive book, video tutorials, and an active forum, where anything can be clarified by the man himself. You can tell this is something made by somebody who cares. It's a completely foolproof method. Whether you're an absolute beginner who desperately needs guidance, or like me, you've been at it a little while, and you're looking for a way to take things to the next level. There's enough depth and science involved in this that even a voice expert can appreciate this system. As an owner of The Four Pillars of Singing, you're not just the owner of a vocal program that you can use at home; you are a student of TVS methodology, and you will no longer be left to figure things out on your own. It's the closest thing to having a voice coach without actually signing up for lessons. It's all laid out right in front of you, and there's nothing left to do but practice.
I enjoy seeing my students improve themselves, I believe in fun learning but I also think that their improvement is part of their discipline.
Awesome! Great teacher and great vibes there. See drastic improvement in playing and discipline already! Highly recommended!!
I teach tech in singing and using your voice to your full potential. I teach vocal exercises, breathing control, and vocal relaxation.
Fantastic experience working with Janet. My 13-year-old daughter is the student. She's never had a singing lesson and no one would call her a natural and she lacked confidence she needed to put herself out there for auditions. After just her first lesson with Janet she had a sense of confidence about her voice that I had never seen in her. Janet asked me to come to pick up my daughter a few minutes early just so that I would have a chance to see how she did. With Janet's accompaniment on the piano, she started singing the song she was working toward auditioning with. Ok... I admit I can be an emotional guy about my daughters, but I was crying after her first verse. In just two more lessons, she called me excitedly while I was traveling to tell me that she "had a break through". I don't know what else I need to love Janet as a teacher for my daughter.
My 6 year old daughter takes private piano and singing lessons from Katie and we have had the best experience! She is so sweet, kind and patient. Plus extremely talented. My daughter is already playing the piano with 2 hands and singing up a storm. I would highly recommend Katie and actually have already referred her to my other friends!
Learning to sing is fun! You can do it. Even if you might think that you can't sing, I bet you can! It's all about patience, listening, and practice. All voice lessons are tailored to the student's abilities and interests. I will work with your individual vocal needs by developing an appropriate vocal technique. This means releasing the sound, breathing, getting an effective, efficient tone, and extending the range where necessary. We will explore various vocal styles, musical theory, and improvisation too. I teach a broad range of styles from musical theatre, folk, Celtic, rock, contemporary, jazz, and some classical. My students vary in age and ability. The foundation of good singing is the same for all styles. I do not accept just anyone as a student. I prefer to teach people who really want to learn and have a passion for what they do. How long will this take? Well, that depends on your goals. Students ages 5-11 usually schedule a 30 minute lesson, while students age 12 through adult may feel that a 45 or 60 minute lesson will do the trick. Just as for any other instrument, weekly lessons are essential. If a student is really motivated to train their voice, a regular lesson time and regular home practice is necessary to hear and feel results. What are your goals? Having goals for voice lessons is so helpful! Do you want to audition for musicals, community theater or college acceptance auditions? Do you want to sing for friends and family or have dreams of going professional? Do you want to inspire confidence within yourself to just sing out listening to the radio? All of these goals are attainable! I will work with you to reach your goals! You can do this! It's all a part of us! Students may bring material they wish to work on, and I will recommend music that would be appropriate for their voice type. New students may start at any time during the year. Tuition payments are made monthly. Rates are $115 a month for 4 - 30 minute lessons, $173 for 4 - 45 minute lessons and $230 for 4 - 60 minute lessons. Students are required to purchase their own books.
I have been working with Convery Studios for about two years now and my voice has vastly improved thanks to her teaching. I would highly recommend the service for anyone interested in improving their singing and wanting to become a more well rounded singer.
