FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We have pretty competitive pricing. Depending on the type of service our customers hire us for we may charge by the hour but only up to $160 per day and from there we will continue providing quality work for up to 3 hours free of charge. However, that is only for some of our services. It helps customers save money and we get a sense of giving back to our communities. EartheScapes Home Services always has some good deal or offer going on for almost all the services we provide. There is also the option for customers to put a bi-weekly or monthly plan together for any of the services we offer and that they need done on a continuous basis. So, for example, if a customer needs lawn care and house cleaning every 2 weeks but also would like help with the garden once a month they can have us put a service plan together for them and they will receive a service plan discount from 30% to 35% off. Service plans give customers a pretty good discount which, in turn, allows them to have money for other things they need or want in life.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I actually earned my BA degree in environmental studies. I took a lot of classes on gardening, which included: organic, companion, water, non invasive, and other forms of gardening. I also had course work in native plant species, ecosystems of the N.W., environmental issues, conservation, and other environmental subject matter. I have done volunteer work for the Skokomish Indian Reservation helping restore their sweet grass and caring for their medicine gardens. I've attended and have also led seminars on gardening and garden pest control. When going to college I worked part time as a residential house cleaner. I stay up to date on new practices, products, and knowledge. I also keep updated on environmental issues and conservation. I try to incorporate as much environmental stewardship into EartheScapes as I possibly can, as well as discuss these ideas and practices with customers to see if it's something they would like to incorporate into the work we do for them.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started out cleaning my parents home twice a week so that they wouldn't have to exert that type of energy and stress at their age. I quickly realized how much I liked helping others with chores that they either couldn't do, or just didn't have the time to do themselves.
