FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Some cases are billed on an hourly basis and my current hourly billing rate is $280 per hour. Flat fee cases are dependent on the amount of time expected to be spent on the case. Costs are extra and are billed along with fees in both cases. Some cases require advance fees to be paid before work can begin. It is impossible to give estimates for hourly billed cases as there is no way to predict how the other party in a case will respond and, therefore, how many hours of work will be needed for a given case. Most family law cases are hourly and I cannot give an estimate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Finding out what the desired work for the customer would be and then deciding, based on my schedule, caseload, client’s goals and other factors whether or not I will accept the case for representation.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
