I strongly recommend Theo if someone is looking for a math tutor. Theo tutored my daughter during the summer. She failed Algebra and had to take the class in the summer. Theo was able to explain the concepts and teach my daughter how to solve the Algebra problems. After just 2 tutoring sessions my daughter had a better understanding of the Algebra concepts. My daughter received an 87 as her grade for Algebra 1. I strongly recommend Theo without any reservations. Theo is patient and it's a bittersweet departure hoping Theo returns back to DC.

Al is fantastic! He has been tutoring both my son and daughter in high school math (Algebra 3/Trig) . Their confidence increased after their first session with Allen. He is knowledgeable, patient, and personable. My son -- once reluctant to see a tutor, now looks forward to his weekly session and most notable, they both passed their most recent math tests. Yeah!!! I highly recommend Al's Math Tutoring.

My son found it very easy to understand him and comfortable working with him. He may be over qualified for students needs with just basic algebra and my son even needed some more basics filled in and he didn't hesitate to fill in his deficit in fractions! He was most likely overqualified but we had an extremely positive experience and I don't doubt we'll be calling again!

Dennis went above and beyond his gift of teaching! We are very well pleased with his services. He has always been on time and very professional. On one day, he tutored my son in Algebra 2 for four hours. He was really concern with my son passing his math test. He is definitely in the business in getting the students in the learning and mastering the concepts. We have truly been blessed by Dennis ability to teach students who are having difficulty with Math.

Relatable, knowledgeable and effective. Stephen was able to engage my son well in a very short period of time and help him dust the cobwebs off of his algebra knowledge in preparation for a more intermediate class.

Jared was super friendly. He exhibited an extreme amount of patience while teaching. His method of teaching was easy to follow and helpful for my 7 year old daughter. He even had the book available for us to take home and practice right there. Going back this week!

About

The world we live in is full of questions and mysteries waiting to be discovered and investigated. Mathematics is the study of patterns in the world around us. As a mathematics tutor, I strive to provide a positive learning environment where students can strive for excellence in critical thinking and problem solving. My mission is to help students develop an intellectual toolbox which can help them solve a broad range of problems. My teaching style is Socratic and emphasizes the cultivation of strong habits of mind. I believe that the best way for students to learn mathematics is for them to encounter and wrestle with the challenging problems they may not know how to solve immediately. A student learns the material better when they discover the ideas for themselves rather than be told by someone.
