I hired Alex and his crew to renew my driveway. I had both a negative and a positive experience with my driveway. Being a female I assumed that any contractor will take advantage of me and take me on a run for my money, hence my excitement when I got a recommendation from a colleague. When my project was completed, I was over the moon excited and had a one up on my husband because I completed a task he had procrastinated with for a few years, and here is the positive. Alex had a bit of a higher rate then a few of the estimates I had received from various sites (Angie's list, Craig's list, here in thumbtack as well) I however chose Alex concrete because he came highly recommended and he seemed an OK guy when I met him and so the job began. He was on time, kept me informed of the status and the state my driveway until the last day. Unfortunately, a month or 2 after the job was completed, to my horror I noticed a long 10 inch crack at the center of my beautiful layed driveway. I didn't know if I should scream, laugh or cry. Not to mention the "I TOLD YOU SO" from my husband. Frantically, I called Alex and DEMANDED he fixed this terrible crack and that it was his fault. Alex calmed me down and drove over to Shelton the next day, assessed the damage and we came to an agreement, yes concrete cracks just like glass and wood they are not guaranteed to last and it was an unforeseen situation. Alex came back and fixed the cracks and didn't charge me ( I provided the materials, because it was only fare). Long story short, my boss hired him for a sidewalk and an designed concrete slab for his back yard and my sister has secured a contract with him for the summer. I now have learned not to pour concrete during the winter as it will crack lol. I'm sorry for the long novel, but I feel Alex deserves a good review.
