FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed an editing certificate program at the University of Washington in 2010. I continue to take editing and writing classes from the Editorial Freelancers Association, Copyediting.com, Poynter's News University, attend meetings, and self-study from books.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After spending my whole life editing in various capacities, once I graduated from college and graduate school in international development, I still ended up doing editing in my jobs and enjoying it the most! It's something I'm good at and that I enjoy doing. Freelance editing allows me the flexibility to be my own boss and to take on lots of different projects.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I typically edit reports, journal articles, newsletters, websites, blog posts, proposals, research reports, and scholarly works.
