Awesome. Andy is honest and hard working. We appreciate his level of communication. Will have already referred him to friends. He has worked on our master bathroom and has been great at trouble shooting along the way. Much appreciated for everything.Jun 1, 2015Verified
Andrew is a dedicated, knowledgeable contractor, and a pleasure to have around the house. He was very agreeable to our project suggestions, easy to get along with, and offers great ideas. I would definitely recommend Capstone!Jun 1, 2013Verified
Andy is a fantastic contractor! We hired him to make a loft bed after reading all of his good reviews. His excellent service, trustworthiness, and skillful craftsmanship will leave me recommending Andy to all of my friends. I thought building this wonky bed would be a pain, but our experience was very positive. Working with Andy was very easy. He is very responsive and has a ton of creative ideas. He even helped with setup and delivery, which was a huge help to us. Andy offered to use reclaimed wood and recycled doors to keep cost low (a priority), and even did some bargaining on our behalf. We really appreciated it. The bed is extremely well-made and beautiful. Very study, extraordinary craftsmanship, and exceeded my expectations. Andy is also very transparent, explaining all of his costs on an easy-to-understand receipt. His prices are very reasonable, especially considered the quality of his product. He is a true professional. Thank you, Andy, for imagining exactly what I wanted, for your helpfulness, and for doing the job right.Aug 7, 2014Verified
Andy helped me rehab my deck this Spring and I'm really pleased with the result. This is the third project Andy has done for me and I've been very satisfied with the quality of his work and his attention to detail. He provides very detailed bids and has always kept me in formed of changes along the way. He is great about providing cost effective alternatives to getting a project done right. Andy is honest and professional, I will continue to rely on him for other home repair and improvements in the future.Nov 9, 2013
I hired Andy to remodel a very ugly bathroom. He had great ideas on how to save me money and had creative ways to work around some of the restrictions that we ran into. Andy is a pleasure to work with. He is honest and is sincerely interested in making the customer happy. He has extensive experience in so many areas, and it comes through in his work product and his ability to deal with both the minutia and the big picture. Id recommend his services to anyone looking for a dependable and fair contractor. And, he loves my dogs. Thats always a huge plus! :-)Dec 30, 2012
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I provide full service design-build. I have solid sub-contractors and a keen eye for form and function. Most project are build time and materials. With advance deposit, my Owners get no make up on materials. All phases of the work are line out and priced. I happily source recycled materials from Ballard Reuse and Second Use. Also, if an Owner want to help or build parts, I give 100% Owner-Builder support. I call it assigning Home-work" to my clients. I also loan tool and give you training as needed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First we have a pre-design meeting and develop of detailed scope of work on a yellow pad. I turn that into CAD drawings and a detailed pre-construction budget with a scope of work. I charge for this service. Then I will price the project for my company to build it, and get the Owners plan-sets to get other bids. If my price is best, I will credit back 50% of the design services on the final billing. Owners have complete control to add or change work at anytime during the building/remodeling process.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?In New York, California , Oregon and Washington I worked up from being a Resident Manager to General Manager and holding a Certified Property Management certificates from both State and National organizations. My properties included large scale HOA's (1987 to 2003) being responsible for between 120 and 3500 homes. Yearly I managed the combined budges of all my assigned properties, and in the process hires 100's of contractors a year spending $180,000 to $2,500,000 annually. Directly supervised between 6 and 50 employees. 2004- to 2016 I operated Capstone General Contracting, Inc. This business remodeled 5 to 15 residential and commercial projects a year. Some very small, and some large.
