2018 Top Pro
About this pro
I pride myself in having a depth of expertise in a wide spectrum of photography - from lighting and the technical stuff, to knowing how to work with people and create authentic images that work. While I shoot a wide variety of work, my focus is in commercial/advertising and editorial portraiture– capturing people (or products) at their best and conveying a visual story. I know the importance of that story and how to , with 20 years of professional marketing experience, collaborate with my clients to set goals, define scope, and produce the work they need. When it comes to value and quality, I really strive to offer the best balance possible and will never sacrifice quality to deliver it. It's true - being a photographer is a great job. I love everything about it. I enjoy the people, seeing new products yet to go to market, going cool places in search of amazing light, and the creative process that goes into preparing for every shoot. And though it may sound pandering, I find it immensely satisfying to hear that my clients love my work and enjoy working with me. I do everything humanly possible to get those results for my clients. The harder I work, the happier my clients are, and the positive feedback is what keeps me going. It's a win-win for everyone!

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Photography, the needs of my customers and the range of offerings I provide make a firm pricing structure impossible.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? It's incredibly important to take my time and make sure I listen to the needs of my clients so I can deliver what they need. The process varies wildly, from in depth creative meetings, pre-production and photo briefs, to a simple phone call before we shoot. The consistent part is being a good listener.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?My biology degree was largely a waste, but I still know what mitochondria are. I am mostly a self-taught photographer, with a ton of course work, workshops and professional training stretching back to the mid 90's.
