Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have an exceptional ability to create well-balanced spaces using a variety of products (and sometimes even the client's own furnishings) providing layers of interest, while showcasing the client's lifestyle and passions in a very unique, refined way. I'm a member of the Northwest Society of Interior Designers (NWSID), allowing me to remain current on product new products, trends, etc. My knowledge extends into the construction field when I team up with builders and developers. By providing them with concept packages, which includes finish selections, products and materials, lighting, etc., they are able to offer on-trend properties attracting more buyers, producing higher sales. Design management is part of this builder package allowing me to partner with subcontractors and vendors to create the best layout and use of space in new construction and remodeling projects, analyzing everything from kitchen and bath design to electrical plans, flooring transitions to outlet placements and door swings. All these elements factor into the homeowner's daily experiences. I want the person or family who buys that home to live comfortably and with ease, lingering longer by the fireplace and diving deeper into their dreams. I love design. The discovery process. The multitude of options. Bringing together personal pieces with new finds. Finding balance amongst the layers of texture, color, shapes, volumes, history, and scale of everything from furniture to flooring, wall applications to window sizes, architectural details and curated collections. There's never one right answer to a particular space. Design is about providing the client with what works for them. As the professional, it's my job to take the clients ideas, criteria, elements, etc. and blend them to make sense and create a functional, beautiful, comfortable, living space that completely suites them. Design is very personal.

We first used Andrea for a kitchen update in about 2004. We'd refaced our cabinets and I wanted to update the flooring. There are a billion choices out there and I was having trouble making a decision. Andrea helped us pick a 14 x 14 cream tile. But the best part was she suggested running them on the diagonal with a narrow trim of black slate (which we'd used in the entry and on the fireplace) around the outer edge then a thin trim of the base tile laid square to finish the outer edge. The details make the floor eye catching while tying it to other elements in the interior. About 2011 we decided to remodel our main floor bathroom. We turned that project over to Andrea and were very happy with the results. The bathroom was nicely updated but maintains the style of our home. She gave us some fun tile choices that coordinated with our existing tile floor. She included carefully thought out details like a deeper soaking tub, grabrails and cut outs in the tile for soap & shampoo, new more efficient lighting and backsplash tile. In 2013 we decided it was time to replace those outdated white tile counters in the kitchen. Of course I called Andrea. We chose a caramel/cream color quartz for the counters (it goes well with the wood cabinets and cream floor giving a comfortable smooth flow to the room) that eliminated a low partition between the kitchen and diningroom and extended to serve as an eating bar. The backsplash is an off white subway tile with a narrow trim of slate & glass running through it with a nice detail of a large square frame behind the gas cook top. Of course a new deeper sink, new faucet and cabinet hardware were additional details that completed the project. This kitchen has been done in stages over the years and the choices Andrea has helped us make have kept the costs down, updated the kitchen with style and given it a great feel. You walk in and say "nice kitchen"! In conjunction with this project Andrea suggested we to take advantage of the quartz left from the counters to update a guest bathroom and helped us choose an updated sink and backsplash tile. We've really enjoyed working with Andrea. We can discuss all kinds of ideas and options and she has lots of creative ideas for problem solving, materials and space solutions. She always adds details that give our projects that professional and individualized look. We're looking forward to using Andrea again on our next project.

We moved from our Ohio home of 40 years to Florida. It was a huge cultural and lifestyle change for us. I knew we needed help melding our old favorite pieces of furniture, art and accessories with our needs in a new environment. We wanted to change from a traditional style to a more modern style, but not so sleek that it would look strange in tropical Florida. Andrea was so helpful getting us focused on the big picture first such as the overall color palette, how each space would be used, and must haves from our own furniture. We gave her our room dimensions and the measurements of our furniture pieces and she did a layout plan before she was even onsite. When she arrived we put everything in place (the walls were painted in our new color palette before she arrived). What a HUGE difference it made right from the beginning! Now when you enter our home you feel the openness and you’re drawn to the backyard views. There is a conversation area, TV viewing area and a more quiet curl-up-with-a-book area instead of just a big space with a sofa against the wall. She advised us on new furniture pieces we needed like a bookcase to showcase books, art and accessories and a new sofa, updating us to a more modern style. She helped us shop for these items and kept us focused on our new style, hard to do when my husband and I have different ideas. She helped us find common ground in our furniture choices so that style AND function came together. Grouping and displaying our art was like the icing on the cake as she accessorized with our own much-loved pieces making this house our home. I really appreciated how aware she was about our budget. She knew how to get the biggest bang for our buck and where we could save money. She also did some preliminary planning and brainstorming for our kitchen remodel that was to take place 4 months later. Her awareness of all the details, things we would not think about until faced with a contractor wanting a fast decision, made that project turn out fabulous too. She spoke with the contractor using their terminology, ironed out so many tiny details (lighting, electrical outlets, etc.) and suggested options that increased the function so that our new kitchen is a dream too. She made the entire process fun and exciting and we are grateful for her help.

As a former residential builder in Seattle I have worked closely with design professionals during the planning and build process on several occasions. The best experience I had was in working with Inner Space Designs. Andrea demonstrated to us the importance of integrating a comprehensive design plan from the beginning, which incorporated elements of every aspect of the project from exterior to the interior. She worked with us on several projects to enlighten us on the value of intentional placement of some of the more mundane aspects of building like electrical hardware that often obscures a perfect art wall, or door swing that may limit the comfortable flow of a room. She even helped us think through the mechanical placement of air vents, heat ducts, etc. based on the overall design plan. She worked alongside our sub contractors and was quickly able to gain their confidence with not only her artistic capabilities, but also with her communication as she could speak with them on technical aspects of an installation as well as the logistics of interior hard and soft surface elements. Andrea has an incredible passion for design and an enthusiastically engaging personality. She’s willing to listen and incorporate the clients’ story into the design of a home or project.

Andrea has her finger on the pulse of contemporary design, bringing with it a vast knowledge of design history with a special interest in mid-century modern. Her diverse design experience, construction knowledge, and open perspective give her the proficiency to answer your needs as well as address issues that may not have been considered. Andrea always holds the big picture while paying attention to every detail, including cost. Being resourceful, she can ensure your budget will be met. I held two art show/parties in a 100 year old wooden warehouse and asked Andrea to own its look and feel. She came up with a detailed plan, including layout for the catering, bar, DJ booth, and art gallery, paying attention to the flow of traffic. She directed the lighting, placement of the art, and added extra interest to the space using items found in the warehouse. Working within a tight budget, she created a lively inviting warm space resulting in enthusiastic success. Simply put, Andrea is an interior designer.

Andrea was great to work with. My favorite thing was that we began the project with very different ideas; instead of pushing her goals on me, she really listened to my ideas and came up with brilliant ways of incorporating them into a beautiful, and very functional, bathroom!
