Sylvia came over, to give us advice on our 4 month old Yorkie/Havanese pup - Yoda, who is a handful. She answered all our queries and concerns, spent time teaching us commands for Yoda as well as training Yoda to follow them. We were impressed with how well she handled Yoda and taught him to respond. She is very informative, knowledgeable, patient and passionate about what she does. We like the fact that Sylvia came home to train Yoda in his home environment. We also like the fact that she available via a phone call and can be contacted anytime we have any concerns. We recommend her if you are looking for a good dog trainer. We will definitely be using her for our next dog training session. Thanks Sylvia for easing our minds. Yoda is already showing signs of improvement.
Martha helped us with training issues with our 1 year old basset hound and our 13 year old corgi. We recently had a new baby and with the change in the household had issues with fighting between the dogs. We also had other training with the bassett hound such as barking and taking and chewing baby items, shoes, and socks. Martha was wonderful, it has been about a week since she was here and we have seen a large improvement in all the areas needed. I would highly recommend using her if you have any issues to work through with your dogs.
We appreciate Ada's gentle, positive strategies to help us build our bond with our Lab and work on some behavior changes! We completed training with our dog when she was younger and called on Ada for an update. We plan to have some follow-up sessions as we prepare to add another dog to our family. Ada was wonderful!
Cindy knows so much! She was so helpful; my puppy is so much more obedient even just after the first session. I will definitely continue to ask Cindy for help with all of my dog training needs.
It's obvious that the trainer, Laura, is truly dedicated to training each K9 according to it's particular personality. I've seen her work with the most timid to the most unruly with diligence and respect. I struggle with complex PTSD and treatment resistant major depressive disorder. My13lb Havanese rescue was already quite attached to me, but needed some basic obedience skills. Informing me that she trains Emotional Support Animals; she trained him in basic as well as advanced obedience skills. Laura took care of all of the paperwork to have my young man certified, she provided the service vest, a certificate, an ID card and all of the equipment and knowledge necessary to personally continue his training so he can accompany me during my day to day activities. Over the phone, I interviewed 3 other trainers and am happy that I chose Blue Ridge Working K9. My boy is well on his way to being able to be by my side in any location or situation. Thank You Laura.
Patti is amazing! She gave me practical tips on training my dogs and gave me insight into how their minds work. She showed me processes to help me work with them and gave me hope that I will be able to train them properly. She saw my dogs as loving, sweet and good dogs - like I do! Even just 24 hrs later I see a marked difference in their listening and wanting to change direction! I have 2 mastiffs and needed someone to come to my home since it wasn't possible to take them both somewhere by myself for training and she was able to do that. Patti is kind and gentle and I am so thankful for her help! I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
We love Zoom Room! The staff are amazing, especially Olivia at the front desk! The owner Cheryl is truly a gifted dog trainer and an all-around awesome person. Zoom Room offers numerous classes and you will find no trainer more dedicated to you and your pup than Cheryl; she has taught me so much about being a good handler and my dog Xedo loves her. Xedo has excelled at Agility under her awesome direction and insight. Even now, while he is recovering from ACL surgery, Cheryl has been so awesome, checking on him and offering ideas and encouragement. Cheryl is going to help us build strength in his knee, by utilizing one of her class specialties, “Puplates”! Best of all Zoom Room is a community gathering place where like-minded, fun loving dog owners and their awesome pups can meet up; whether it’s for "Agility League Night" (a friendly competition for pups and their peeps!) or celebrating while playing games and enjoying lite fare. Xedo even had his 6th birthday party at Zoom Room! Boy was that fun!! We have so many favorite events at Zoom Room it's hard to name them all! Cheryl is so awesome at putting together parties to celebrate every new season, including holiday photos shoots for pups and their owners. There is no better training studio around! If you are looking for a great community to connect with while learning tons about training your dog and having lots of fun while doing it, look no further! Zoom Room is perfect!
Our experience with Latony's Dog Training so far has been exceptional! Very responsive, very professional and very compassionate toward dogs. During our initial meeting they focused on learning exactly what we are looking for in training our dog and are helping us to created a long-term plan. We can't wait to get started on this process!
I've been training with Jessica for 10 months. I've had a handful of trainers in my life and I've made the most consistent progress with her. She tailors the workouts for me, takes into account my history of training and is mindful of my aches and pains. Most importantly, she helps me set realistic, measurable goals. I did a 200lb deadlift in December! I remember when 145lbs was my max. We are currently working on a new goal. I look forward to my 45 minutes with her every week. She gives me 100% of her focus. She helps me get my head straight, and I always feel better when I leave than when I came in.
Julie's knowledge and expertise were evident from the clear instructions she provided to me and the way she interacted with my Husky-Mal mix, Koda. Koda would go crazy whenever she encountered other dogs when we took our walks, so I sought Julie's help in finding ways to deal with those situations, as well as ways to help introduce her to known friendly dogs. She brought her dogs (Malamutes) to assess Koda's reactivity and we worked on exercises to divert her attention and to gradually approach and greet her dog in a more controlled manner. She also showed me how to prevent Koda from jumping up when greeting people and tips on training her to greet people politely. I've been practicing what I learned with Koda and her behavior has definitely improved. I'd recommend Julie/Learning 4 Life Dog Training to anyone looking for training and practical advice using positive reinforcement.
Jacqui was asked to jump into a very difficult situation and she was absolutely marvelous. I watched Jacqui train four dogs for a commercial shoot, in which, she had very little time to prepare and time was of the essence. It was a complete success! Jacqui has a confident demeanor and knows how to work with animals proficiently. With over 6 years of experience, I can't think of a better trainer for our commercial shoot. Jacqui is kind and respectful and was the lynchpin in ensuring the success of our shoot and ultimately our commercial spot. We could not have done it without her. If you need your dog trained, call her right now! You will not be disappointed. Thank you, Jacqui for all of your help! I will be calling you again, when my director tells me that our talent is a bunch of pooches. You rock!
I am 110% satisfied with Vivians care of my pets while I was on vacation! She was courteous, punctual, reliable, obviously knowledgeable and just a real sweetheart! My pups and I liked her immediately! She even got my "shy" dog to actually leave the yard and go for a walk! I haven't been able to get her to willingly do that! Thank you, Vivian! She sent me periodic status updates and pictures! When I got home she took time to "educate" me on some techniques for continuing the training she had done with my shy dog and she will be coming back for further training sessions! I am grateful I found Vivian and will highly recommend her to friends and family! Thank you Vivian from me and Autumn, and Summer, and Dinah!
Christy was wonderful and helped me with puppy training, my anxieties, and has helped us to learn to read our puppy's needs and what behaviors to expect at this age.
Janet was a pleasure to work with! She came to our home to help us manage our dogs fear/phobia that was progressively getting worse. She had great ideas that we would have never thought of and helped us practice and refine some training techniques. She even helped us with our other dog and issues we hadn't planned on dealing with in that session. She answered all our questions and made sure we felt good about everything before she left. Highly recommend working with Janet who clearly loves animals and is good at what she does.
I train dogs. I was in 4-H for 4 years training and showing dogs. I will work on obedience trying with your dog.
You can think of training as learning life lessons. Pet dogs have the capacity to become a loving, even tempered, and well-mannered member of the family. All it takes is hard work dedicated to teaching dogs according to how they learn individually. My understanding of dog communication and cognition allows me to accommodate various levels of intelligence and energy in order to structure a lesson plan for individual dog needs. Training should motivate confidence and problem solving which can be built upon to gain consistency in proper behavior, end unwanted behaviors and strengthen the bond of your family.
I have taken care of several animals (cats, dogs, horses, and all small pets), either of my own or for others. I volunteered with a dog rescue and have learned valuable dog safety and training skills. I have a passion for animals and grant the best and very thorough care for your pets!
I am nineteen and I used to work with search and rescue. I have trained my Shepherd to do air scent and I am very patient. Making dogs happy is my main goal.
My work stands out from others because in the end you will have a happy well mannered dog. Your dog will be taught to respond to you not just me. If needed, I offer my phone for any problems that may arise after training.
I offer easy, basic obedience for your beloved pooch. It's fun and gratifying to have your best friend obey. Also, obedience makes for a trustworthy pet. I love dogs, and have trained my own. I can do it for you, too. My basic obedience will also free up your time. You will come home to a pet that is well behaved and personable. I'm excited to help your dog become the fun, loving and enjoyable companion that you desire.
I train little pups into mellow, mild-mannered mutts and teach pet owners to understand where their dog/puppy is coming from.
