I have been taking lessons from Mizue for almost 3 1/2 years. I started with piano lessons and after a year or so switched focus from playing to composing, arranging, and orchestrating. Mizue is a fantastic teacher, and I have learned so much from her. She has an amazing breadth of music knowledge and an ability to explain and illustrate concepts clearly. She is also very patient when I just can't seem to "get it" right away. I highly recommend her.Mar 4, 2015
One month in and I absolutely love taking lessons with her. She is very kind but gives good critiques and you can tell she's knowledgable. Seems very passionate about what she does and is easy to talk to about other things as well. She is willing to help you play music you enjoy. I really enjoy playing piano with her.Feb 22, 2015Verified
This is my daughter's first time taking lessons, and she loves it and Ms. Murakami. She has learned a lot. We would recommend her to anyone.Dec 30, 2014Verified
Mizue is an excellent teach for both beginning and more advanced students. I'm an adult and she has been my teacher for over a year. She knows what I need to do to overcome any problems I'm having playing a new piece of music and knows what pieces to choose to help me advance my skills. I am very pleased with my progress. She is patient and kind (very important in a teacher!) and I highly recommend her!Oct 18, 2014
I loved my lessons with Mizue! My main goal was to learn how to read music, and thanks to Mizue, I can both read and play my favorite compositions now. Mizue is a wonderful piano teacher, she is very patient, she made our lessons interesting and kept me inspired. I would definitely recommend her to anyone!Oct 16, 2014

- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Try lessons at least for a few months to see if the teacher is the good match with you. You can't really tell if it's a good match or not by just taking 1 trial lesson. It takes time for the teacher to get to know the student as well, their weakness, strength, communication skills, preference. You also can't tell until you take more than a few lessons to see if the teacher has patience, dedication, consideration, understanding, compassion, and passion for teaching.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?Besides teaching piano, I also give instructions for Theory, Ear Training, Improvisation, Composition, Arranging, Orchestration, Sequencing (using music software), Chords & Harmony and many other musical skills.
