Introduction: GETTING STARTED: I know how difficult it is to find a trainer that is a good fit, so I offer anyone interested 2 free sessions to see if my coaching style connects with you. I work out of a facility 5 minutes away from Green Lake, and just blocks off the 65th Street exit off I-5. There’s no additional gym membership needed to train with me. BACKGROUND/MISSION I truly find fulfillment from helping people become healthier. After 10 years working as an Exercise Specialist, I still love what I do! I have a BS in Kinesiology, and am a certified Functional Movement, Kettlebell, and Sports Performance Coach. When I am not training my clients, I’m working on keeping people healthier at my other job as a firefighter. MY STUDENTS: My clients range from those working to improve body composition/weight-loss to those training for a specific event such as a marathon. I also work with more case sensitive clients, such as: -pre/post natal -those with a current injury -neuromuscular diseases -joint replacements -autoimmune diseases -and more. I love watching my students progress. There is nothing more fun for me than watching a client take steps closer to their goal.

David is an incredibly knowledgable trainer. It is obvious that he has "done his homework" both in academic review & hands on training, but more importantly, he simply has the inherent gift for understanding/adjusting the human body. I noticed his eye for alignment & form immediately. He is quick to look beyond the symptom for the underlying cause. (Ex. Why do I actually have knee or hip pain? Is is stemming from something/somewhere else?) He is funny guy and sarcastic. Know that he has little patience for excuses so you will be called out if you to try to pull them, but I want/need that in my trainer. He has your back & genuinely cares about your progress. Work hard, ask questions, and have fun. Have definitely learned something w/every session.

Dave is a skilled and versatile trainer. Dave helped me prepare for a total knee replacement. I started working with Dave two months prior to my surgery. I have many limitations because of joint damage from rheumatoid arthritis. He was able to help me strengthen my leg muscles without causing pain. Quite a challenge because before my surgery I was bone on bone in my right knee. I am now two weeks post surgery and I am walking unassisted. According to my physical therapist, I am way ahead of goals post surgery. He believes the speed of my recovery is due to how strong I was coming in to the surgery. Thanks Dave for getting me ready. With Dave's help, I'm looking forward to see what my new knee can do!

I was nervous about working with a personal trainer after years of sitting at a computer. I didn't want someone yelling at me "you can do it - just 20 more!" I didn't want to be so exhausted that I needed a nap when I got home. Working with David is nothing like that. I feel energized when I get home! He pushes me through the routines with encouragement, making adjustments to my form and suggesting more reps until he can see I'm at my limit. Don't get me wrong, this is a workout! I'm tired when the time is up. He asks if I feel any discomfort during or after a session, particularly after working on a new routine. After just a few meetings I feel so much better than I expected and look forward to my next class with David.

I've worked with a number of personal trainers and Dave has been by far the best and most memorable. He's knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. Common sense approach, yet it's clear there is depth behind his work. Highly recommended.
