FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Home care rates vary from $20 - $30 per hour, most clients end up on a bi-weekly basis at a rate of $25 hour, for general cleaning. Typically, weekly or light cleaning runs $20 hour, and monthly, deep or larger home cleaning runs $30. My quotes are not based on square footage alone, I would come to your home and discuss what you want done during a walk through, and then offer a quote based on your individual needs. Pet care rates vary from $5-10 for drop in visits, $10-$25 for walks, and varying rates for other services.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For both home and pet care, I offer a free consultation. My home care quotes are not based on square footage alone, I would come to your home and discuss what you want done during a walk through, and then offer a quote based on your individual needs. For pet care I will come to your home, or if the animal will be staying in my home you could come to me. We will discuss you and your pet's needs, and how and if I can meet those needs.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My first pet sitting job, in the late 90's, was 3 weeks of staying at a casual friends house while they were out of the country visiting family. Their dog had cancer, and needed comforting and many trips outside during the night, and medications. One of their cats also needed daily medicating. It was a very rewarding experience and I cared for their animals a few more times, until their dog passed away and I moved too far out of the area. I started cleaning houses in 2005, with a friend who's cleaning partner was moving on to another job. Home care and cleaning may not be the most glamorous job, but it does appeal to my OCD streak, and has given me the freedom and time to pursue my education and creative endeavors, and it helped me get to know my friend, who later became my wife! I took over the business when my wife became disabled and physically unable to continue.
