FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Personally, I've tried other fields that match my strength- accounting, math, financial, but seem to be most at ease serving my clients in private or corporate events. It just feels like a natural fit!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
In almost all cases, I confirm details of location, timing of service, type of function, a general demographic of clientele (to determine most appropriate level of service per client wishes), a fairly accurate expected number of attendees, and overall desired outcome. Once this is known, the most common types of jobs I do are weddings/rehearsals/brunch, birthdays, bar/bat mitzvahs, memorials/celebrations of life,. sporting events, bridal or baby showers, etc- drop-offs to full service.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be open to discussing various options. In the field of catering or event planning as well as consulting, the more details that can be discussed to be clear what expectations you have, the better it is for all parties and the fairest prices can be negotiated- price is always negotiable if you are reasonable with expectation.
