Introduction: When I take pictures, I try to give my images a sense of life, joy, and storytelling. I believe that photography can be a tool to portray the beautiful intricacies of this world and the people in it, and because of that, I use it as my way to express my appreciation and love for every person or place that I photograph. When photographing people, I try to have my photographs give a sense of who that person really is, rather than have it remain a surface-level picture that only tells you what that person looks like. Portraits can capture so much emotion in so many intricate ways, and I try to have my photos bring that emotion to life through color, texture, and capturing moments that tell the story of whoever I'm photographing. I love being a photographer because of the personal interactions and connections that I make with clients. Photography isn't just a job for me; it's a way to experience people who I otherwise would never connect with. Taking pictures gives me the opportunity to show people how unbelievably gorgeous they are, on the inside as well as outside. I love the conversations and tidbits about peoples' lives that I learn about throughout a shoot. However, there is nothing like seeing peoples' reaction to "the shot;" the moment that someone can look at a photo of themselves and really see themselves as a beautiful creation is unlike anything in the world.

Mary is just amazing. She was very professional yet personable throughout the whole process. She made the effort to get to know me and Anna and made us feel comfortable. She used the environment around her to come up with great picture ideas on the fly and got excited when she captured ones she was proud of. I could tell just from the 45 minutes of shooting that Mary is passionate about what she does. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to save some memories and wants to have fun doing it! :)

Mary is a joy to work with! She tailors the photo shoot to incorporate both her own artistic style while working hard to keep in mind what your hopes for the session are. We hired Mary as our photographer for our wedding (which was her first wedding shoot) and the pictures are timeless. Absolutely beautiful! She has a fun and inviting personality which makes the shoot much more natural. I highly recommend her as a photographer to anyone considering !

If you've spent any time looking at Mary's photos, you already know how talented this woman is with a camera. The pictures speak for themselves. After doing an engagement shoot with Mary, I started to realize what makes her pictures stand out to me: her sincerity. High School/College Senior Photos: $200 for an hour, $300 for two hours Engagement Photos: $250 for an hour, $350 for two hours Family Photos: $200-450, depending on size of family Wedding Photos: $2,000 for eight hours of shooting
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love having a phone conversation with clients before I head out on a shoot with them! I prefer knowing clients a little bit ahead of time so that the shoot isn't the first time we've interacted! With wedding clients, I love sitting down with couples to talk about what their day will look like and what photos they are hoping to come away with. After a portrait shoot, I deliver photos one to two weeks after the date of the shoot. After wedding, I deliver photos seven to eight weeks after the date of the wedding. With both shoots, I always show clients previews so that they aren't anxious about whether or not their photos turned out like they hoped!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look through a photographer's portfolio! Style is huge when choosing a photographer; if you like a certain photographer's creative edits, go for it. Be sure that a photographer's style communicates that the photographer is easy to work with and will make your shoot as smooth as possible. Make sure that whoever you are hiring is someone you are comfortable with; if you don't feel safe with your photographer, the portraits will show it. When looking for a photographer, be sure that it is someone you can trust. In my opinion, taking pictures of someone is a really intimate thing! You're getting up close and personal in someone's face with a camera, which can be intimidating and overwhelming if you don't feel like the photographer knows what they're doing. You want to feel beautiful and confident when your photos are being taken, and the person behind the camera can make or break that experience with their persona.
