Latest Review: We bought a 30 year old townhouse that was in need of remodeling and everything looked good from our point of view. But, we wanted to be certain that everything checked out.
API was referred to us by our realtor. We wanted a thorough job. We were concerned about the usual stuff like roof, plumbing, electrical, etc. We didn't want to buy the place and find out later there were problems.
The report we received from API was not only quick but, it was 40 pages long! Every aspect of the home was covered with photographs of the home as well as illustrations and explanations of what is the normal, best practice for each section of the inspection. The report was so thorough that the president of the homeowners association wanted a copy.
The most important part of API's inspection was their work under the house. They found running water! They really had to go the extra mile to find it because the former homeowner had brand new vapor barrier installed and tied to the foundation. API un-tied the vapor barrier and pulled it back to find the problem.
We disclosed the finding to the seller and they agreed to remediate the problem by installing a new perimeter french drain and sump-pump. A $4,000 cost to the seller that WE would have had to pay had API not found the problem.
Needless to say, we were thrilled that API saved our bacon on this.
