Dave was going to remodel my kitchen. After I described what I wanted, he told me a rough estimate of about $30-$40,000. After we spent many visits designing the project, Dave worked up a bid, and it came in at about twice what he had originally estimated. At that point I asked him how much I could save if I kept my existing cabinets and added new fronts, doors etc, rather than purchasing all new custom cabinets, since those cabinets had made up over $40,000 of his bid. Dave refused to even consider this , and refused at that point to do the job, even though he had never told me that he would only do the job if I purchased all custom cabinets from him. Each time along the way that I suggested keeping my cabinets and putting new doors on them, Dave came up with a reason that that would not be a good idea. Now I believe that the real reason was that Dave would have made a lot of money if I had bought all new cabinets from him, and that he did not even want the job without this. Dave had been generous with his time, and refused payment I had offered for most of the times that he came to my home and worked on designing. I did pay him for the last several visits. He did, however, ask me for $1600 which I gave him, for drawings of the design. These came back very rough and with many mistakes. When I asked Dave about this he then said that the money was to compensate him for his time, the time he had offered for free. I do not think it is right for him to ask for payment after the fact. I am left with a loss of over $2000, and no one to renovate my kitchen. Dave had not been honest with me about his intentions, had acted as though any design I wanted was something he would take on. His bid came in at twice what he had originally estimated, and when I told him I needed to economize and work out a design that fit my budget, he refused that job, and kept money that he should have returned. He should not tell someone that he did not want to be paid for time spent planning a project, and then change his mind after the fact and become angry that he had not been paid. I can only imagine that he had expected to earn enough on custom cabinets to cover that time, and had estimated low at the first meeting to get me to work with him .Jul 7, 2015Verified

Dave and his team built my chiropractic office from the ground up. They were first rate professionals. Integrity should be part of their name, because it describes exactly how they operate. Quite simply they came in under budget and right on schedule. The whole process went very smoothly and the end result was a job well done. Many thanks to Dave and to Ray and the entire crew. I would highly recommend him!Feb 28, 2014
