Great experience working with Mike! As a first time home buyer I felt comfortable knowing he was looking at EVERYTHING in and around the house.Mar 28, 2017Verified
Mike Walker was friendly, professional, and answered all of our questions in a way we could understand. He was very thorough and got our home inspection report to us very quickly. I would recommend him to anyone buying a home!Jan 1, 2017Verified
Seemed thorough however there was some peeling paint on the jam of the man door that he either missed or it's not in his scope of work? Also the home was a completed new construction home. Mike noted that some caulking needed to be done on some Hardiplank and around some utility and window areas. The builder states that caulking Hardiplank invalidates the warranty and that industry practice is to NOT caulk around utility inputs or windows?? Don't know who's right or wrong there but I'm having to find out whether it's truly needed or not and if the hardiplank warranty would really be invalidated by caulking after installation.May 23, 2016Verified
He explained everything we needed to know, any minor details and he knew what would fail a VA appraisal. Incredibly fast, we had the full copy of the report within about two hours of completing the inspection.Apr 28, 2016Verified

- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I take 24 hrs worth of training classes every 2 yrs to stay up on the latest developments. I also have read several different training books in different fields to stay up to date on codes. I also have several years of experience in the plumbing field.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Make sure you hire a licensed & certified inspector. One that has experience and has the knowledge to give you a thorough inspection.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project? That we do not have X-Ray vision and we are not Mike Holmes. I can't just walk into someones house and start knocking holes in walls that I can fix later. By law, all inspections are "non-invasive", which means that there may be things hidden that we cannot possibly detect. However, it is amazing the things I can find just by observing the clues and piecing them together.
