FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Not complicated. Just different prices based on the event. Some require more effort, equipment setup etc. than others.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There really is no formal education to be had out there. I read blogs and search for posts on what's hot and new, different activities or interaction that I can do.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Not an uncommon story. I was the singer in a highschool band that got demoted to sound tech! I had the presence and personality to be a front man, just not the voice they wanted. It gave me the background for sound management and lighting design. I still absolutely loved music so much and the reaction of a crowd when the music was good is addictive. I realized about 3 years later that I could become a professional DJ and have almost everything I did as a musician. It was an easy choice to make and I have been doing it ever since.
