FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Glad you asked! Here is how we work. First, we will set up an initial meeting so I can come and look at the project in person. At this meeting my goal is to understand what your top priorities and outcomes are and for the project. This meeting also allows me to help you understand the implications of certain design choices based on your homes layout and systems. I will also be taking measurements and pictures of the space for the design phase. Next up is the design phase. If you already have a design or someone to create it, that is great! With all the selections made and design in, I can quickly get you a very accurate quote. If not, Blue Gem Construction offers free professional design software and services if you use us for the project. This means prior to building, you will have a to-scale, professional 3-D rendered drawing of what your space will look like once finished, down the paint color on the walls! I will spend the necessary time with you to think through the entire project to make sure your vision becomes real and meets ALL your needs. I have a huge amount of experience in this field and you will be glad you are able to leverage that knowledge. Once a design is agreed upon and selections are made, we can get an exact quote written up for the entire project along with a contract which will lay out the project specifics. Now we schedule our start date and prepare to begin the project on time. My detail oriented crew will arrive on the start date ready to go to work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a CAPS (Certified Age-In-Place Specialist) builder. I have been an individually licensed and bonded contractor for 2 years. I am personally a real estate investor and manage those properties. I have deep domain expertise in residential construction.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father owned a small construction company and taught me the ropes from a young age. In high school I worked for my girlfriends father who owned a bigger company and worked directly under him for several years. After college, I immediately started purchasing real estate and then began remodeling entire homes. After doing several tile showers I found that I had a real passion for building them and have been making bathroom remodeling my primary focus for the last few years.
