"Aleta is good at relating with my child, and keeping her interested in the less immediately gratifying aspects of learning piano. With anything that takes repetition to master, kids may lose interest or drag their feet. Aleta has a nice balance of cheer-leading and gentle firmness.
I've been impressed how, at every lesson, Aleta makes time for exploring with improvisational duets. So,it isn't all structured theory and memorization.
In addition to learning to play with the piano, my kid is learning to venture forth, try new things and enjoy the process, not just the "perfection" of a particular piece or technique. I do not have to bug my daughter to practice. She is making the piano her own, and learning how to trust her own "voice", and past obstacles. We are getting what I had hoped to get from piano lessons with Aleta. Very satisfied."
