FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have one year of Fine Art Photography schooling from Minneapolis College of Art & Design. I am also a member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and regularly take online webinars through them. I am always furthering my education and knowledge by attending photography conferences and seminars, meeting and collaborating with other artists, and research.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always been drawn to editorial and portrait photography. I started with conceptual fashion shoots with my best friend and senior portraits for classmates in high school. I was immediately passionate about photography, from start to finish. I love conceptualizing a shoot, working with clients to get our ideal shots, and spending hours perfecting each image in post-processing.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently did a 2-day boudoir marathon with 11 clients. Most of these clients were young mothers with children under the ages of 1 or 2 who needed a pick-me-up. I loved the transformations from when they arrived to their sessions--mostly tired, a little frazzled, and some nervous--to when they left--confident, energized and excited!
