Introduction: Well hello and welcome! Whether you're a beginner or long time practitioner I would love to work with you on your yoga journey. I have a Master of Science degree in Yoga Therapy from Maryland University of Integrative Health, where I graduated in 2017 through the on campus two year program. I am Certified with the International Association of Yoga Therapists with Yoga Alliance at the RYT-500 level. Besides my education in yoga, I have a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Having spent 20 years in the Army as well as being an accomplished NCAA cross country runner I understand how important it is take care of our bodies, minds, and spirits.
I'm currently offering virtual sessions through Zoom and have experience teaching Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, and Restorative yoga. I'm also experienced teaching iRest Yoga Nidra, Trauma informed yoga, and meditation. Having broken my back in an accident back in 2016 I well suited to help with chronic low back pain.
Besides working privately with clients I work as a yoga therapist at a local military hospital integrative pain center. My teaching is centered on kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity with yourself and others. I help students push themselves, while reminding them to maintain softness around attachments to expectations of a particular outcome. The Yoga Sutras are my guiding principle in my practice and teaching.
I absolutely love being able to connect with others on a deeper level outside of what we normally experience in our everyday lives. Yoga is much more than a physical practice, but I truly enjoy when students try new and challenging postures, having fun while doing it. It's great to see people learn and grow.
I work with individuals through the lens of the Koshas (Sheaths)
Anamaya - Physical
Pranamaya - Energetic, Breath
Manomaya - Thoughts, Emotions
Vijnanamaya - Wisdom, Intellect, Intuition
Anandamaya - Spiritual, Bliss, Peace, Love, Happiness
