Introduction: Well hello and welcome! Whether you're a beginner or long time practitioner I would love to work with you on your yoga journey. I have a Master of Science degree in Yoga Therapy from Maryland University of Integrative Health, where I graduated in 2017 through the on campus two year program. I am Certified with the International Association of Yoga Therapists with Yoga Alliance at the RYT-500 level. Besides my education in yoga, I have a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Having spent 20 years in the Army as well as being an accomplished NCAA cross country runner I understand how important it is take care of our bodies, minds, and spirits. I'm currently offering virtual sessions through Zoom and have experience teaching Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, and Restorative yoga. I'm also experienced teaching iRest Yoga Nidra, Trauma informed yoga, and meditation. Having broken my back in an accident back in 2016 I well suited to help with chronic low back pain. Besides working privately with clients I work as a yoga therapist at a local military hospital integrative pain center. My teaching is centered on kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity with yourself and others. I help students push themselves, while reminding them to maintain softness around attachments to expectations of a particular outcome. The Yoga Sutras are my guiding principle in my practice and teaching. I absolutely love being able to connect with others on a deeper level outside of what we normally experience in our everyday lives. Yoga is much more than a physical practice, but I truly enjoy when students try new and challenging postures, having fun while doing it. It's great to see people learn and grow. I work with individuals through the lens of the Koshas (Sheaths) Anamaya - Physical Pranamaya - Energetic, Breath Manomaya - Thoughts, Emotions Vijnanamaya - Wisdom, Intellect, Intuition Anandamaya - Spiritual, Bliss, Peace, Love, Happiness These combine to take into account the bio-psycho-social-spiritual aspects of our human experience.

Private Yoga Instruction

Jeff is a compassionate instructor with obvious respect for both the physical and the meditative aspects of yoga. As a beginner, I was worried I'd be intimidated, but Jeff quickly put me at ease and helped me challenge myself at my own pace. His eye for making subtle changes in my stances and alignment made a real difference. I'm looking forward to my next lesson with him, and think the instruction will be a great addition to the classes I'm taking.

This class had students who had done yoga before, but not regularly. Jeff corrected positions and kept the class in an appropriate beginner to intermediate mode. In the end we did some nice ab workouts.

Jeff taught an amazing class. He’s professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable. He greeted each student as they walked in, shook hands, and shared a bit about himself as a person and a teacher. Jeff’s class was intense on two levels. It was a serious work out where we were challenged and sweating. It was also spiritual, peaceful. I left feeling fulfilled. It is obvious Jeff cares about his students. I cannot wait until his next class! I’ve already recommended it to all my friends.

Had a phenomenal experience. Very attentive to posture and alignment, kept me in the moment. Pace was easy to follow and did not feel micro-managed. Felt more like it was about my personal journey than about getting everything perfect, with the safety net of experience Jeff provides in the event something did need correction.
