My son needed Calculus tutoring quickly. He broke his arm and needed surgery in the middle of the semester resulting in missed classes & him getting behind. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rate is $45 per hour. I do offer discounts to clients who meet more than once per week.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During our first meeting, I like to figure out what the client expects from me. I like to discuss the client's goal(s) because I will try to approach our sessions with that goal in mind. I try to find out how the client learns and use techniques that are most helpful to that client.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BS degree from Weber State University in Secondary Mathematics Teaching. I have been tutoring since 2001 and have participated in tutor training. This training focuses on questioning the student, rather than lecturing the student.
