Introduction: Private training and board and train are set up to be tailored to your needs and goals as apposed to group classes where some dogs have a difficult time learning in that environment. I do the training and you learn to maintain it. In addition, my doggie daycare incorporates lessons in self-control by waiting at doors, sitting politely, and playing politely. Dogs are special gifts in our lives. I am passionate about reward-based training method which is completely humane and proven effective. I am grateful to be able to do what I love and empower people to transform their relationship with their dogs through trust and understanding.

Laura truly loves dogs and it shows in everything from her dedication to helping rescued dogs to helping pet owners with their canine companions. She understands why enrichment is so important to a dog's well being and I've certainly learned a lot from her about that, which has helped my dog, Dexter, tremendously. He gets bored and needs a lot of mental stimulation. When I watched a video about how she trained her own active dog, Tula, in some enrichment behaviors, it took how I thought about enrichment to a whole new level. I wish we lived in Vancouver so I could take my Dexter to her doggie day care. She provides so much more than just a place for your dog to hang out. It's more like a really great pre-school than it is dog sitting.

We contacted Laura soon after we adopted a new "rescue" dog. Our new little girl was timid, shy, and terrified of new experiences. Trying to take her for a walk was challenging, as she startled at every movement and noise and was fearful of other dogs and strangers. Although we are experienced dog owners, we knew we needed special help for this challenging situation. We first hired Laura for private training consultation in our home and then started day care in her home, when our dog seemed ready for it. Laura's skills and confidence were so impressive and her gentle patience and use of positive training helped transform our pup from a cowering girl in the corner to a curious, playful, enthusiastic companion. We are so grateful to Laura and recommend her services without reservation!

Laura has a true passion for dogs and always has. She has a kind way about her and is serious when it comes to training her fellow four legged friends. She treats her dogs as they were her children by feeding them only the best and keeping them well groomed. I have seen her first hand with all kinds of dogs and her love for them is genuine!

I think Laura is fantastic . She takes care of our 8 month old mini Aussie . Ruby was quite anxious at first but Laura is great at slowly introducing new dogs one at a time . Ruby is very excited now , she runs out of the car to the front door . Laura has a lot of knowledge about dogs and training . I feel at ease knowing ruby is having fun and being well taken care of and she's good and worn out when she gets home . Laura is also very accommidating with my early work hours .. We are very happy with laughing tail and we highly recommend it .

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is very simple: Doggie Daycare $25 per dog per day Dog Walking $20 for 30 minutes Comprehensive Evaluation $95 - includes a written plan of action Board N' Train is $500 per week Walk N' Train package $450 (three times a week for three weeks with an additional two lessons to help owner maintain the new skills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I train through the Jean Donaldson's Academy for Dog Trainers, which is an ongoing education program with weekly webinars. I've attended several Clicker Expos and APDT conferences. I have trained and competed for years in agility and rally. I also have an opportunity for ongoing training through dog*tec.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have a profound love for animals and have spent the last two decades training, rescuing, competing in dog sports, and understanding how dogs learn and communicate. I finally, decided last year to make my passion into a reality by starting my own business. I am happy and grateful for this amazing adventure!
