Introduction: I have taught for almost 43 years. Whether a beginner or advanced musician, my training as a vocalist, pianist, and performer of most types of music, gives my students a chance to grow like with none other.
You will see that I have student references to corroborate the effectiveness of my teaching abilities. Please take the time to
read through them. The price structure for each lesson differs depending on the length and frequency, per lesson or by the month. Most lessons are 30 to 45 minutes in length, and if needed we can lengthen them to an hour. Tuition is a fixed amount per month depending on the length of the lesson.
I teach in the Vancouver, Portland metropolitan area. My studio is in Vancouver. I travel to 75% of my student's homes. If you need me to come to your home we'll need to see if my schedules permits, and tuition charges.

Mr. K is very responsive to inquiries and questions. He takes his time to know your child and what will motivate them. He finds ways to make lessons enjoyable and grow the love of music in the child. He has worked with my twin girls for two months now and he handles their multiple question at the same time like a champ.

My 6 year old has been working with Mr K for the last couple of months and things are going great. I was worried about transitioning from one teach to another thinking that my son may not like the lesson format but that hasn't been the case at all. Mr K has a lot of experience working with younger kids and I can see that in his interactions. My son is high energy but Mr K can redirect him when needed. Also, scheduling and setting up payment was a breeze so as a working parent, I appreciate that!

Ten or eleven years ago I searched for a piano teacher for my then 8 year old grandson. Dan Kenison's name kept coming up. My grandson became his student, and a few years later, also my granddaughter.
Dan has a soft, easy way with his students. My grandkids loved him, always looking forward to their lessons and yearly recitals.
Now that they have moved on in their lives my old piano has been standing grand, but silent. A year ago I made the decision to learn to play her...at 67 years old! Of course, I phoned Dan...aka Mr K...and have been his student, now going into my second year with him. I'm amazed that I can actually play recognizable tunes!
I am self-employed and must practice around my own somewhat busy schedule. There have been weeks when practice was slim. But Mr K is willing to go the distance with me whatever time that may take. I am so grateful to have this opportunity at this later time in my life to yet learn and begin to understand the language of music.
I highly recommend Dan Kenison to future students...no matter their age or ability.
