FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned a B.A. in English with a Concentration in Creative Writing, and gained successful grant writing experience through an internship, full-time position with a nonprofit, and volunteer opportunities. In 2014, after my experience in grant writing and nonprofit work, I joined a professional editor's network, which provided editing and business courses. I then launched my first freelance editing business in 2016 and began client work. I put my business on hold in 2018 to work full-time as a Copy Editor for a financial media outlet. For two years in this position, I edited between 10,000 and 20,000 words per day. Now, I am getting back into freelance work with my new business Wanderlust Editing.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up writing my own fiction, and studied creative writing in school. After school, I gained experience in grant writing, explored opportunities to edit different styles of writing, and discovered how much I enjoyed editing. I joined an editing network and took advantage of the online classes it offered, which started me on the path of editing professionally.
