At this point I do not know much, but our initial conversation for lessons was very good. They seem to be very flexible and understanding and have a great deal of experience with giving lessons in Ballroom Dance. I'm looking forward to our first lesson.

Kristina Lee was fantastic. She was fun and encouraged us to try challenging moves. She did a great job of managing a rowdy group of 7 women, and we cannot wait to go salsa dancing soon!

Brittni is an exceptional dance instructor. She is great to work with. She took my non salsa dancing boyfriend and created a monster. He now has the confidence to dance anywhere we go. I knew the basics of salsa dancing and she helped me improve my moves. She has the patience to guide every step of the way. I highly recommend Brittni. We will definitely be calling on her again!

As an introvert type person that never tried dancing before, Anna was able to work with me and was able to make me a decent dancer. She teach me salsa, waltz, rumba and a little bit of tango. She is the most friendly dancer that I have ever met.

Our ongoing dance lessons are one of the major things we look forward to. We are impressed by the instructors she has working in the studios. They are personable, enthusiastic, and patient. When I realized my goals are not the same as Donna's, we were both accommodated.

My fiance and I at the time bought a living social dance lessons package at an awesome price that helped kick start our dance lessons. Steve (the owner) was fantastic, knowledgeable, and personable. We received individual dance lessons and Steve took us through all the different dances we could possibly do or want to do and from there he listened to our first dance song and we narrowed down what dance we wanted/could do for our wedding dance. After our living social package lessons were up my fiance and I were so impressed and pleased that we ended up buying their Bronze package for 15 additional lessons! These lessons took us more in depth within our first wedding dance (which turned out to be a Viennese Waltz). Each lesson lasted one hour and after each lesson we felt we had learned more and gotten better and more knowledgeable ourselves about dancing. When our wedding came we slam dunked our first dance and still our guests say that was the biggest surprise of our wedding (because we didn't tell anybody we were taking dance lessons) and that they had never seen a better first dance. My husband and I felt at ease after having our dancing lessons and more confident about dancing in general. The instructors really go at your pace and give examples, feedback, and make it fun! I have watched our first wedding dance about 50 times and still smile and feel proud at the end of it. What made this experience even better was how proud, enthusiastic, and excited Steve was about our first dance as well. Now that our wedding is over my husband and I are still going back to dance lessons and are excited to learn other dances and show those off to our friends and family as well. After researching all different dance studios that provide first wedding dance lessons, this was by far the best! I have loved every minute of it and would do it again in a heartbeat!!! I would recommend "Get on the Floor Dance Company" to anyone I talked to!!! After all, they truly did make me feel like Cinderella at my wedding during our first dance! We twirled around and I was on top of the world!!!

I started taking salsa with Dennis, first just coming with a friend to a series of private lessons and then taking regular group salsa lessons with Dennis and continue to do so. That being said, I got addicted to his energetic lessons and started with ballroom and Tango and now to Zouk with visits to all the other forms. What I like about Dennis's programs is that he is one of the few real artists giving lessons in Chicago. He regularly travels to expose himself to what is new and different and to push himself to improve his skills. That love for dance and creativity keep it interesting no matter what dance form I'm studying under him, whether they be group or private.

I have taken ballroom lessons at this studio for a little over two years and still love every minute of it. My teachers are Slash Sharan and Sergey Smolin, who are both patient, personable, funny, and very knowledgeable! I am also so thankful for them b/c they are understanding of my crazy schedule, financial limitations, and passion for the artistic side of dance. I focus moreso on competitive dancing, and I love the challenge that I still feel with each lesson but at the same time have fun and feel that I continue to grow as a dancer. I am also the most physically fit than ever before. The great thing about this studio is its versatility. Every instructor has the personal and professional skills to help a student be a better performer, social dancer, competitive dancer, etc. There are also many avenues for your dancing; you can just take lessons and have fun with those in and of themselves, perform at a small Friday night practice party or a big stage at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center, dance at Practice Night, which simulates a competition scene (this is unique to the studio), compete at a small regional competition or a big national one in Puerto Rico, or prepare a dance for your wedding. I have much respect for the instructors here b/c it is not an easy task to teach someone the intricacies and physics/mechanics of dance, but the teachers make it seem effortless, along with their endless patience. I have known Slash and Sergey for a while, and they are genuine people who are passionate about what they do (teaching others how to dance and also dancing/competing themselves). It is heartwarming to be part of this group of people. My dance tip for anyone who joins the studio is to practice on your own what it is these instructors teach you. The information is so valuable. Most people here take the 40-minute private lessons (although there are group classes, too), and you can move at your own pace. If you work on this beautiful craft, you will find yourself growing more than you ever thought you would, and it makes you feel good about yourself and motivated to be even better than what you were before. It also helps that these instructors are committed to helping you achieve success and to ensure that you feel happy with your dancing. Overall, I am very happy here, and dancing has done wonders for my health. I feel blessed to know these people who have a positive and passionate attitude towards dance and life. I recommend it to anyone!

The thing that made all of the difference with Cathy's classes is that there is only one teacher and the floor is for one dance style. When I went to a franchised dance studio, there were 3 to 5 teachers and there were all different music styles being played. It was really hard to practice my Foxtrot when the Salsa music was playing. Cathy teaches the group the moves and makes sure that everyone is comfortable before moving on. Her way is easier to learn and you remember the dance moves better.

Liz is FABULOUS!! I tried dancing at Chicago SummerDance a bunch of times—but I was no good. I saw Liz dancing with an older guy at about five SummerDances. He also wasn’t very good in the beginning, but he looked like he was having a lot of fun. By the fifth time I saw them, he was a WAY better dancer. So I introduced myself to Liz and asked if she gave private dance lessons (OK, she’s also really attractive…). No surprise—she said “yes”. I’ve since taken a lot of private dance lessons with her—mostly swing, but also salsa and bachata. In the beginning, I lacked confidence and was very self-conscious. But Liz is a great teacher and has helped me a ton, including learning how to relax and have fun—imagine that :) I’ve developed a lot more confidence, I've had a FABULOUS time—and I’m 10 times the dancer I was! Liz is super: talented, fun-loving, genuine, observant, adaptable and caring. From the first time I saw her, it was clear that she had “helping profession” written all over her face—and I’ve had the joy of experiencing her kindness and talent ever since.

Nikole is amazing. I'm learning both pole dance and jazz from her and she is engaging and awesome! She is very engaged in new technique. I've made great progress in the past couples of months. If you like to learn and have the opportunity to take a class from Nikole seize it!
