She also holds a Masters in Education from Loyola University Chicago. The Wisconsin Music Teachers Association has twice recognized Miss Garin for “Proven Teaching Excellence. Miss Garin says, "Working with my students on a daily basis and the relationships that I have established with them is probably the primary thing I enjoy about my work. Piano/voice study often continues for years so I come to know my students quite well. It is so rewarding to see them grow and develop in their music abilities often from the time they are small until they graduate High School. I also enjoy working with the many adult students who have come to my studio over the years either as brand new beginners or someone wanting to renew their music skills from childhood." Piano Lessons "I teach using the most current books and teaching materials for piano study and follow the curriculum guidelines of the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association District Auditions/Badger Competition. My goal is for them to become great note readers with beautiful technique and interpretation following a path to Classical Music, BUT I also teach Christmas songs, Ragtime, Jazz, Disney, etc. to capture my students' interest." Voice Lessons "In my career I have worked with young singers as a school music teacher, director of musical productions, and in a private studio setting as instructor/accompanist. With young singers, my immediate goals are to help them sing on pitch with correct rhythm and diction as well as work with them on proper breath control." Events Students of all ages and abilities perform year-round in festivals, competitions, and recitals appropriate to their individual strengths.

Ms. Garin taught my daughter piano for several years. She has excellent rapport with her students. My daughter not only learned to play the piano well, but also grew in poise and confidence. She did very well at competitions ( as do Ms. Garin's other students.) Her students consistently score high at competitions. Ms. Garin pays particular attention to technical skills as well as picking music to keep her students engaged. Piano recitals are always a pleasure to attend, and you can see the wonderful relationship she has with each student. Ms. Garin's Piano Studio has been a great experience for our daughter. Would highly recommend Ms. Garin if you are looking for a piano teacher.

I took lessons with Ms. Garin during my Junior and Senior years of high school in 2009-2011. She is very welcoming, friendly, generous and always shows a great deal of interest in each of her students' lives. She encouraged me to do my best, and supported me outside of piano; she even came to see the musical I was in! Her musical and teaching backgrounds really help her students excel, no matter their age, and she makes learning the piano fun. Each year she holds a recital for students and their families to showcase their progress and their talents. As a native Kenoshan, Ms. Garin always has an eye out for ways her students can participate in the local music culture. This past October, she and 8 of her students of all different ages performed a 9-part song (on 4 pianos) in a Halloween-themed concert at Carthage College. It was fantastic! While taking lessons with her, I participated in Solo and Ensemble and the Wisconsin Music Teacher's Association's District Auditions. Even though I only took lessons with Ms. Garin for a short amount of time, I learned a great deal about piano and about life. I, like many of her former students, still make sure to catch up with her when I come back to Kenosha because she's truly a wonderful teacher, human and friend.

I took piano lessons from Ms Garin for almost 11 years. Over that time, she not only taught me about music theory and piano techniques, but her guidance helped me learn about hard work, dedication, and atristry. She catered her lessons to me personally, exposing me to various styles of music, and making sure I was always interested in what I was learning or playing. As I progressed, she allowed me to explore options in songwriting and play some of my own compositions at her student recitals. Over the years, my mom and I both came to know Paulette as a very approachable and caring person with a passion for music and teaching. By now, I consider Paulette a close personal friend and cannot recommend her highly enough.
