My daugther Paige enjoyed working with Bill from MyGuru for both ACT prep and later calculus. His easy-going style helped the process- not a pressure situation at all. If she didn't understand the explanation the first time, he'd go at it a different way until she understood. After working with Bill, her ACT score improved from 33 to 35 primarily due to the help he provided with her math and science review. Bill also is flexible with rescheduling a session in case there is a conflict. We'd recommend working with Bill and MyGuru. When our son reaches this stage, I'm sure we'll be giving them a call. Thanks!
Thomas is a well prepared, intelligent, and personable tutor. He was able to quickly establish rapport with my daughter and dive into the challenging aspects of the ACT prep.
Ms.Conrad was my 10th grade English teacher as well as my PSAT/SAT tutor. She was a phenomenal teacher who helped me grow not only as a student, but also as a person. Her bubbly and easy-going personality made working with her fun and enjoyable. Her caring nature made me feel like if I never needed someone to talk to I could turn to her. Being a junior, I had to get ready to take college admission tests, but with all new changes and all the different types of tests, I had no idea where to start. Luckily for me, Ms.Conrad was offering SAT/ACT/PSAT tutoring over the summer of my sophomore year. I was so excited to get a opportunity to work her again, I started immediately. She was really flexible and was always understanding of any difficulties or questions I had. She really brought out the best in me through each session so we accomplished every meeting. Now I can't wait to take my PSAT because, thanks to her, I feel confident and well prepared for it. I had also tried preparing for the PSAT through learning centers such as Sylvan, but the results and growth were nowhere near the same as working with Ms.Conrad. To the learning centers I was just another student, but Ms.Conrad really honed in on my strengths and weaknesses, she individualized my lesson plans so that whatever skills I, personally, struggled with she would help me improve on them. Her approach to the lessons made it so easy to follow and understand. I'm so thankful I worked with her because she did an amazing job and is definitely perfect fit for anyone looking for English or SAT/PSAT tutoring!
My family used Carol twice, with very positive results both times. First, she wrote me a terrific resume that landed me a great new job. Then, she tutored my niece for three months last year to prepare her for the SAT test. With Carol's help, she did much better than we expected. Carol's expertise and experience are well worth her price. We give her the highest recommendation!
Chaavi is an intuitive teacher. She not only teaches the subject for my son, she created the passion to write more. She is friendly and my daughter loves to go to her class. We definitely see academic improvements as well as interests for the subjects within our children.
We worked together for about 4 hours over 2 sessions to get myself ready for the GRE. We used a variety of materials, including websites, prep books, and lessons at my home to help get me prepared for all the sections of the exam. Throughout the lessons, Steve kept detailed notes on my performance to help track improvement and keep me updated on my progress. I have yet to take the test, but I have a much more solid idea of how to prepare for it, and he was able to handle all of the different scheduling challenges I had for prep. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Helped me raise my SAT score
My daughter received excellent score of 780(scale of 800) on New SAT-Math thanks to Mr. Patel's expertise. Her previous score was 610. We were struggling to find the teacher for New SAT. She is not fond of word problems and gets frustrated. But Mr. Patel was able to make concepts much simpler and easier to understand. We also signed up for his College Consulting Service, where his team of professional coaches work with us one on one at a fraction of the cost. We are very satisfied and definitely refer Mr. Patel to my friends and family. Thanks Mr. Patel for your support.
Charlie tutored my son for the ACT and did an exceptional job. He worked with him both on general test taking skills as well as the specific areas where he needed the most help. Charlie is great at working with boys who do not have the longest attention span, as well as those who may not feel they "need" tutoring. He really caters his tutoring style to what he believes will work best for that student. Charlie is also very flexible and was able to work in tutoring time around my son's other activities. After working with Charlie, my son felt much more confident in his ability to do well on the test and improved his scores significantly in all areas. We will be using him again for my daughter in a couple of years.
Julia tutored my son for about five years. We were very impressed by his improvement in math shortly after he became her student. Julia's tutoring not only helped him to excel in math inside the class, but it also helped him to excel in standardized tests such as SAT and ACT. I strongly recommend Julia not only for students who need help, but also for those who are doing good but still want to perform to the best to their potential.
I could not have been happier with the results from using More Than S.A.T. in preparation for the ACT. While my older children had used other prep courses for the ACT with satisfactory results, I decided to make a change for my youngest child. More Than S.A.T. had a more unique approach to studying for the ACT. More Than S.A.T’s academic coach was able to tailor a study program specific to my son’s strengths and weaknesses. What’s more, the consultant’s suggestions as to how to manage the test, while taking it, were very beneficial. The result: a 6 point increase. Thank you, More Than S.A.T.!
Highest recommendation! Sarah has worked with two of my boys on ACT/SAT prep and they both benefited greatly. She helped them build skills and confidence, which resulted in improved scores. Sarah is smart, creative, positive and very experienced; we also appreciated her willingness to work around busy schedules.
I wish I could give these guys 100 stars. Dan was extremely helpful. My son had a very low SAT score. Brian met with Dan a few hours every week. His score jumped up over 400 points.

I have prepared over 300 students for the ACT Test and my strategies have been published in an ACT Preparation book. The sessions will be tailored to the student's own learning style and are upbeat and fun. We work with actual questions from recent ACT tests, using the questions as a base to learn strategy, tricks, and academic concepts. Give me a call for more information. Thanks!
1. One-on-one attention 2. I teach from your perspective 3. No question is "stupid" or too easy or too difficult 4. I won't move on until you understand
I honor each individual in each of my classes by being there for him or her throughout the learning process, during class, between classes and after the sessions are over.
I am an experienced SAT and ACT prep tutor with a wide base of knowledge. I have a master's degree in international economics and have most recently worked as a research analyst for a large government agency.

As a former 2400-scorer and current Harvard student, I am well-qualified to teach optimal test-taking strategies. I try to provide a unique method of test preparation that both utilizes and complements more traditional methods of standardized test prep.
