- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The cost for a studio portrait session starts at $175. This includes a personal planning meeting in person, by phone or email to discuss the look and style you want for your portrait and up to a 2 hr photoshoot with a single person or couple and 1 outfit change. Includes your choice of any 2 finished digital photos from the session. Finished digital images are high resolution, retouched portraits/headshots with full rights for use and reproduction.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My aim is to tailor your photograph to your vision and purpose. To achieve this I will meet with you, or chat over the phone or email, to listen to your ideas and discuss your vision for your headshot or portrait. Often this involves looking at photographs that inspire you, color palettes, wardrobe possibilities, props, possible themes, or other ideas to set the overall “feel” for your photograph. After we settle on a concept, I’ll create a background set and a lighting design to bring your unique vision to life. My photography studio is a creative space, designed to be comfortable and functional. There is a private bathroom with dressing area to prep hair/makeup/wardrobe, a garment rack to organize potential looks, a shooting bay, and a computer workstation to view images. During the session you have your choice of streaming music. During the shoot, I will offer suggestions for posing, based on what translates well on camera. I will also show you how the photos are turning out throughout your shoot, ensuring that you are happy with the finished product. The whole process of creating a portrait that brings out the “Art of You” will be a fun and rewarding experience, and you will take home images of your best self.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been making portraits for 15 years, and have been a fine art photographer for 25. I have particular expertise in lighting design and creation of one of a kind backgrounds that result in unique portraits that stand out above the ordinary.
