Jim was great to work with and provided me with a professional headshot that was perfect for what I was looking for. He asked me a lot of questions before our session so that he had an idea of the type of shot I needed, and got me proofs and a finished product within a week. I would highly recommend him as a headshot photographer!Aug 30, 2018Verified

Jim was awesome to work with! He’s a super nice person and he made me feel right at home when I shot with him. He made it easy and fun! He had great ideas and a good vision for the photoshoot as well. The photos turned out amazing & I would most definitely work with Jim again.Jun 16, 2018
My wife and I had a photo shoot with Jim a few months back. Jim was a very professional and fun photographer. He had great ideas on how to capture "the right shots." I would definitely recommend Jim to anyone interested in scheduling a portrait photography session.Jun 18, 2018
As you can see below, Jim took some completely one-of-a-kind photos of me. He's such a creative person and was completely open to all my crazy ideas. I had such a great time at my shoot, getting to be the star I am (heh!), and I couldn't have ask for better results. 5 stars doesn't even begin to describe my experience!Jun 16, 2018
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? The cost for a studio portrait session starts at $195. This includes a personal planning meeting in person, by phone or email to discuss the look and style you want for your portrait and a 2 hr photoshoot with a single person or couple and 2 outfit changes. Finished digital images are high resolution, retouched portraits/headshots with full rights for use and reproduction.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? My aim is to tailor your photograph to your vision and purpose. To achieve this I will meet with you, or chat over the phone or email, to listen to your ideas and discuss your vision for your headshot or portrait. Often this involves looking at photographs that inspire you, color palettes, wardrobe possibilities, props, possible themes, or other ideas to set the overall “feel” for your photograph. After we settle on a concept, I’ll create a background set and a lighting design to bring your unique vision to life. My photography studio is a creative space, designed to be comfortable and functional. There is a private bathroom with dressing area to prep hair/makeup/wardrobe, a garment rack to organize potential looks, a shooting bay, and a computer workstation to view images. During the session there are usually healthy snacks (well, maybe some not so healthy ones too!) and your choice of streaming music. During the shoot, I will offer suggestions for posing, based on what translates well on camera. I will also show you how the photos are turning out throughout your shoot, ensuring that you are happy with the finished product. The whole process of creating a portrait that brings out the “Art of You” will be a fun and rewarding experience, and you will take home images of your best self.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have been making portraits for 15 years, and have been a fine art photographer for 25. I have particular expertise in lighting design and creation of one of a kind backgrounds that result in unique portraits that stand out above the ordinary.
