Introduction: A lot of people who produce videos went into the professional because they thought they'd make a lot of money. I produce videos because I love seeing the magic unfold before me, I love editing and seeing every piece come together perfectly. It's the same reason I loved doing it when got my first video camera when I was 15. I love capturing stories. I've been a photographer since I was 8 years old and a videographer since I was 15. I chose to pursue video professionally because I enjoy having the ability to tell a story with visuals and sound.

We contracted with Makeshift Media Group to film a debate between Liz Cheney and Governor Howard Dean on November 2, 2012 at Marquette University and to provide us with a feed so we could stream the event one hour event. Makeshift used three high definition camera's and a switcher to capture every angle possible. The live stream was fantastic and the video quality exceptional. I will definitely hire MakeShift Media Group the next time we are in the Wisconsin or surrounding area. Kudos to Ben!

I have worked with Ben on two different occassions, and each time has been an amazing experience. Quality equipment, and he takes the time to get to know the projects. Very professional, and the end results are incredible!

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

The type of videos we produce varies greatly and in general includes any type of video that tells a story. The type of videos we have done includes: Weddings Conference Videos Music Videos Theatre Trailers Documentaries

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When looking for a videographer of any type, remember that being a skilled videographer takes years of experience. With technology these days, it's easy to overlook the simplicity that shooting video seems to have on the amateur level - but on a professional level, there are so many things to consider such as capturing audio quality, lighting, and editing, all things Makeshift Media Group takes considerable care in doing.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Creating video is a lot of fun, but it's a time consuming, often exhausting task from beginning to end. In the case of weddings, I'm often on my feet for 12 hours, chasing the wedding party to get the best video. I also have some shooting techniques that are very physical in nature, so shooting is a full workout for me. And after the shooting, there's hours and hours of editing to do. It all takes an enormous amount of skill and time, but the more you put into it, the better it turns out.
