Paula is an artist in the truest sense of the word. She has art shows often, where photos of her travels and vivid life jump off the walls. She is not like every other wedding/event photographer out there. She doesnt need to do this for the money (she is a successful researcher); she truly does it for the art. Of course, if you seek a traditional type of photo, she is very skilled at those too, but Paula shines when it comes to photos that capture a moment, feeling or beauty. My favorite work from her is often a spontaneous moment captured expertly by her lens when she attends events even just for her personal use/life. Its not just her technical skills that wow, but her eye and spontaneity. Her expert ability to frame and compose pictures so quickly makes her a great option for families or for events. Shes been to my wedding and taken photos of very unwilling subjects (me and my husband) and her gentle prodding produced the best photos of me and my husband ever. She also moves quickly and is able to converse with you while taking photos so that the photos look natural and unstilted, which I prefer. She also works well with poses such as my maternity photos she brought some great scarves and had great ideas about poses. Paulas pleasantness and patience also contributes to her beautiful images. Everyone relaxes before such a pleasant, fun photographer. Paula is an artist, so if you want incredible images, she is the person for you!

If I had to sum up my experience with Paula I would say: "she is the best!" I have worked with Paula as a photographer on various occasions. She has captured the biggest events in my life, engagement pictures, wedding pictures and "just because" photo shoots. I am so lucky to have had her photograph these events, as she captured them to perfection. In addition to creating amazing work, she is also a lot of fun to work with. She makes you feel very comfortable with yourself and with the camera, which I think is the secret to great photography. Paula is all about the art of pictures and capturing your essence. Paula is great!!! She did a pregnancy shoot and one for my toddler and I loved the results. I now have some great photos capturing important memories. She was so good with many ideas for settings and props and most importantly, she made me feel very comfortable. She is also great with kids. I would highly recommend Paula for anyone looking for a creative, passionate photographer who makes the experience more comfortable and relaxed.

Paula, has a great talent for taking artistic photos. We had a few photo shoots with different themes, it is always fun, easy, enjoyable and the results are amazing! I have the most beautiful photos of me, great memories for years to keep. Plus there are the photos that are unique. If you want something that will reflect you and your personality in the best way, than Paula is the right choice. I try to make my rates as reasonable as possible for my clients as I am very passionate about my work and want to make it affordable and accessible to all who need fabulous, personalized photos.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to find out exactly what my customer is looking for and customize the photo shoot to make sure the images are just what the customer wants.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over ten years of experience with freelance photography and I've taken numerous university courses on photography and design. I serve as Art Director at two cafes and galleries in Madison, Wisconsin where I select the art that is shown and also have my own photography exhibit each year.
