Introduction: My experience with photography begins with a six-year-old boy supporting up lights for his dad at a party. When we arrived home, my dad gives me his state-of-the-art Hasselblad camera's clastic back and teaches me to wind back the film. For me, it was all enjoyable, but what I did not realize is that with my father's directions, he was gearing me up for my own future profession.
I studied in a photography school at the age of 16, at Focus in Sao Paulo, Brazil. And now, thousands of events, weddings, aerial photos, studio shots, and family photos later, this is all what I do and what I love.
Ueda (pronounced "way-da") is the name my father preferred to be his when he began his business as a Japanese man in Brazil more than 50 years ago, and I'm carrying it on now as a Brazilian man in the United States.
My style is a mix of photojournalism and illustrative. I love the art of photography, which lies in catching the perfect time when something delightful is expressed: an emotion, a relationship, or an idea.
I'm an active member of the Professional Photographers of America and WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association).
