Jeff did a fantastic job with the many tasks he completed at my house...painted patio railings, installed light fixtures, repaired multiple items...just to name a few! He was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend him!

Inititally Peter bid on a job to tile our kitchen floor, but after giving us his background and full credentials (unsolicited at our first meeting, which was greatly appreciated!), we asked him to bid on our whole kitchen and bathroom job - painting cabinets, trim, doors, walls, tiling floor, installing back splash and a few other little jobs along the way that went with it. His estimate was VERY fair and detailed, and he provided a lot of explanation behind the costs, so nothing was hidden. We knew from that point on that Peter is an honest, hard working guy that we needed to hire. And we are soo glad we did! He was extremely meticulous, enthusiastic, professional, flexible (we often times had a house full of kids and he wasn't phased by it), and involved. He cleaned up every night after a long day of work so we were able to use our space during the remodel, and he shared with us along the way what was going to happen next. His estimate said he would finish in 3 weeks and he did!!! And we did add on a few additional tasks from the initial estimate but he still finished on time and the work is beautiful. He takes such pride in his work and it shows. The quality is outstanding and I cannot say enough positive things about Peter and his work. We have already passed his name along to two friends, and plan to use him again for any and all of our home remodels/updates (which may happen sooner than we planned after seeing how great our new kitchen and bathroom look!!). If you want an honest, communicative, hard worker with high quality results, Peter Halper is your guy!!! We consider ourselves truly blessed to have met him!

Chris did an excellent job fixing my living and dining room ceiling's plaster. He taped, mudded, sanded and painted in 3 days. And he worked hard and consistently until the job was completed. I have no issues recommending or hiring him again should the need arise.

If possible I would give more than 5 stars to this company. When I first submitted my project on Thumbtack, Adriana responded within an hour and set up a time to do the estimate the very next day. She and David listened carefully to what I wanted, made some helpful suggestions and stayed within my budget. They gave me a timeline for when the project would be started and completed. They started the day they promised and finished two days early! David and his crew are very hard workers. They paid careful attention to detail, even removing and repainting the numbers on the front of my house! They were always polite and respectful to me and my sometimes unruly dogs. It felt like friends came over to paint my house. David said that the work they did would add value to my house and I must say, it did that and more. I have had several neighbors stop and compliment their work. I am overjoyed with the end result. I feel like I’m living in a new home. If I have any painting needs in the future Integrity Painting will be my first and most likely, only call. Adriana, David and crew, thank you so much!

I had the good fortune of discovering Roerdink Remodel through a business associate in the spring of 2017. At the time, what I needed was a handyman for a new investment property, and Dan Roerdink quickly showed his skill, professionalism, timeliness, insight, and good humor. Since then, I've purchased another investment property, this time a 2-Family, and Dan has become my right-hand man. He's done everything from plaster repair to custom carpentry, light electrical to plumbing, custom door framing / cutting / installation, window replacement, painting and lighting. Dan is truly an excellent contractor, a cut above the rest. Several of my clients in Property Management are now hiring him as well, with equally impressive results. If you're fortunate enough to find Dan with time in his schedule for your project, I would seize the opportunity! Feel free to contact me via Facebook for my business with any questions or to confirm the veracity of this review. - Kurt P. Coffin, Owner of Summit Property Management of Sheboygan.

Travis with Fischer Painting was great! He was very responsive, flexible, and accommodating. The price was very reasonable and affordable. The quality of work was exceptional. Great to work with and very professional, yet personable. He followed up, unprompted, and did touch up work to make sure it was up to my perfectionist standards. I am so happy my walls finally have color. Thank you!

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

        How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

        • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
        • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
        • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
        • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
        • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
        • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
