Susie sets the bar for professional dog trainers. She is extremely knowledgeable and is an excellent communicator both with humans, dog and I must add cats! We've made amazing progress with our two new pups in just 24 hours. Susie gives you the skills necessary to feel confident about creating the best home environment for you and your pets.
Terrific dog trainer for our 7 month old Rottweiler. Kristie saved our human puppy relationship!!!!! Kristie ROCKS!!!
Carolyn is a great and patient trainer. My dog is a work in progress but progress is what we are getting with Carolyn.
I hired Kim to help me train my young puppy whom I'd already somewhat spoiled. I was looking for help with puppy biting and jumping, setting rules and making him understand them and sticking to obedience training, which I find sorta boring. Kim was working the second she stepped through my door, showing me how to deal with the jumping and explaining my dog's body signals to me. She was funny and interesting to work with, not only told me what to do but WHY it works and went a step beyond what I'd gotten from trainers in dog class as far as connecting the pieces for me. She demoed every trick and technique she was showing me and made me feel like I can easily incorporate her tips into our daily life. I am very excited that I now have a more interesting approach to training my pup. I was a bit overwhelmed by all the information at the end of our time together and I think Kim could tell because she summed up what things I will need to work on with him. She gave me a clear plan of when I'd hear from her next so we could discuss challenges and progress and gave me options for working for her in the future if I chose to. I am definitely going to work with Kim again to see if I can improve the relationship between my dog and my boyfriend's dog and teach my pup how to nicely walk on a loose leash.
We met with Tim Mader this evening for assessment and training of our dog Charlie. Both my wife and I were impressed with Tim's knowledge and his ability to "diagnose" the problem and give us advice and direction on the proper way to handle and/or correct our dog when he adversely reacts to situations. Charlie was termed a "difficult to adopt" dog that we adopted from the Humane Society. We do not have knowledge of Charlie's past, but as Tim worked with him he was able to explain to us why he thinks Charlie sometimes reacts to situations and why he (Charlie) is acting the way he does with strangers. He then demonstrated to us what we need to do to correct him. Tim is very personable, friendly, easy to talk to, and his directions were easily understood. Both my wife and I are very appreciative of his advice. We highly recommend Tim to anyone who has a "problem" dog and needs direction.
I volunteered to assist the Navy in training recruits at RTC Great Lakes, while stationed here I wanted to find something to do with my time while I was here. I decided that I wanted to get dog and train the dog to be a therapy dog. I thought it was an outstanding way to provide love & affection for people that truly need it. I hand selected a female Golden Doodle, that I named Bella. I now needed to find a dog trainer to help me train Bella, after searching around for a few days, I was referred to Leslie Wooldridge, after meeting with Leslie and discussing the reason why I wanted to her to train Bella, she was very direct and up front about how it is going to be acommitment, and that it is a lot of work. I respected her honesty because I could see that she took pride in her work. I have been training with Leslie for almost a year now, and I am extremely happy that I chose her. The relationship between Leslie & Bella has been amazing, and the results of the training have aloud Bella to ace both the AKC "Canine Good Citizen" (CGC), and Therapy Dog International (TDI) certifications. I would highly recommend Leslie Wooldridge to anyone willing make the commitment to take the time necessary to get superior results.
Lynn is an amazing dog trainer and she has changed our lives in only a few sessions:)
Rick is very prompt with returning my messages. He took my dog Cody for three walks now, and Cody really seems to like him, especially when he gets belly rubs. So far, I am very pleased with Rick ' s services.
Carol is a fabulous trainer and pet caregiver! She has helped me with some tough behavioral problems. She works really hard to help you have a great, healthy relationship with your dog. I have seen her completely turn around some very difficult dogs who would certainly have been put down without her help. She has also watched my dogs many times and I trust her with them 100%!!
After unsuccessfully trying a different training method, we came to Jason to help us with our dog, Dobby, who has tons of energy, lots of love (definitely a licker, not a fighter), but was also pretty nervous and had a very hard time paying attention to us. Prior to Sit Means Sit, even walks were a constant struggle and often it was hard to tell who was leading who. The change in Dobby was instant and the smart dog we knew existed was almost immediately on display. More impressively, Jason went above and beyond our expectations by teaching us not only how to focus the on the basics, but also address those problem areas (some of which were due to our communication style). Dobby now walks next to us without a leash and even stays by our side during the greatest of distractions (kids, dogs and everything in between). Also, the weekly group classes help a lot to keep fresh the items weve learned as well as pick up some new ones. Best of all, we have a well trained dog who has not lost any of his fun loving attitude. Sit Means Sit & Jason are simply the best!
We worked with Sarah for 6 weeks with our dog, Diggie, on his visitor anxiety at our home. She was quick to diagnosis Diggie's issues and came every week ready with strategies and tools to help us. Sarah was always professional and knowledgable, answering all our questions, while still making us feel very comfortable with what we needed to do and providing us with feedback. After the 6 weeks, Diggie has come a long way, mastering basic commands that will help his anxiety and a plan to continue his progress. We would definitely recommend her to anyone who loves their dogs, but not their behaviors.
Before we met Anna, my wife and I were ready to surrender our dog Zoey to the Washington County Humane Society. Zoey destroyed many things in our home to include bedsheets, comforters, sofa cushions, draperies, shoes, shirts, a recliner, four leashes and three pet harnesses, and that's not the complete list. Zoey was unable to walk with anything other then a 15' cable. She exhibited intense stress, fear, and anxiety. It was so bad that she would pull, tug, and bite on my carhartt jacket. ( thanks for making such a durable jacket carhartt! Lol). It was literally a tug a war every time we tried to take her out for exercise. Anna, discovered, and taught us so many valuable things about Zoey's condition that we were able to come up with a plan of how to work with in Zoey's comfort levels and now Zoey walks with a leash not a cable! She walks right next to my leg with plenty of slack in the leash, she does not exhibit any signs of anxiety anymore. I believe It is realistic to say Anna saved Zoey, not only from going back to the humane society but due to Anna's experience, education, and knowledge with dog psychology, dog behavior, and her understanding of the breeds; how they act and react in social situations, all this gave Zoey a better more calm and fulfilling life. I call Anna the "Saint of Dogs", and I think she has earned this title in the way she genuinely cares for and about animals and how they interact and coexist with humans. I strongly recommend Anna to everyone in need of dog obedience training and behavior modification training for their four legged friends. Sincerely, James & Aly Krieser
Jennifer is a fantastic dog trainer! Very clear and concise during classes, and definitely has a great connection with all canines! My Fezzik is learning SO much so quickly! :)
Victoria is one of the most dedicated dog trainers and breeders I know. She has so many top working dogs, If you have a breed that you would like to compete with,Victoria is the trainer, and breeder you would want to go to.
Jennifer is a great trainer, very insightful in the ways that dogs think and feel. My dog and I have attended training classes before, but there were a few behaviors I wanted to work on. Working one on one and at home is great, as there are less distractions than working in a large class. In all a very positive experience for my dog and I; he gets rewarded for his good behavior and I'm less stressed because he's doing what I want him to do! Jennifer's positive reenforcement methods are easy to learn and work great!
Ellen is one of the most sought-after experts in the North Shore and surrounding suburbs! She is the go-to professional for any and all of my dog-related issues. She is unlike any trainer we've worked with -- she understands exactly what each individual dog needs and trains US how to transform our companions into best-behaved pets possible.
In the first year of his life, my Great Dane had worked his way through two dog trainers and five dog walkers. The latest trainer- a certified animal behaviorist, had recommended we put out 9 month old puppy on prozac. My husband and I were against the idea, but decided to have the conversation with our vet. He absolutely refused and then recommended we talk to Kyra. Fast forward two years. Thanks to Kyra (and Comfy K9s) we watched our misunderstood, misbehaved puppy grow into a respectful, loving, well behaved family member. When it comes to training, except to work. Kyra takes her role very seriously. She wont let you fail your dog. The number one thing that separates her from any other trainer, behaviorist, dog walker- I've worked with is her passion. She wants to help and she'll get it done any way it takes. She reads. She studies. She asks questions. The training is customized to your dogs individual needs. And, she truly cares about you and your dog. When everyone gave up on our dog, she was there. Shes reliable. I know I can call her anytime and Comfy K9s will take care of us. (They're actually on my emergency contact list!) Kyra is trustworthy. Shes genuine. She will make your dog shine.
I did board and train with my girl Lucy. It was pricey but it was the best money I ever spent on my dog. I have been to 2 other trainers prior to meeting Kristi. She really helped me with Lucy wanting to drag me on walks and bark and lunge at other dogs and people. I now enjoy walks. If you want training from Canine Composure just bite the bullet and do it. Not only did she fix my dog but she also really helped me.
