FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Just to start off, your first class is free! The reason why is so that you can get a feel for me and I can understand your desires as well to see if we are compatible. Next, there are levels to my training called Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, and Master Levels, each with a particular emphasis on different approaches to self-defense. The standard price is $15 a class and the classes last about an hour. The test to upgrade your level of training (which can be taken anytime you feel ready) costs $10. There is no refund if you fail the test, and you must pay to take the test again if necessary. Your proceeds will go towards your graduating, custom-made, Warrior Within t-shirt. There are discounts involved, however. The first discount is a group fee. If more than one person is paying and training together, then the price for all members of the group goes down to $10. If you pay for more than one day of training at a time, a $5 difference is subtracted from the overall pay per extra added day. For example, if you pay for three days' worth of training all at once, the normal price would be $45, but because of the discounted $5 per added day; which is two added days, in this example, $10 is subtracted from the total price. The real price would be $35. Businesses in a professional setting will receive a discount of $10 per head for their staff as long as the training takes place in their professional setting. If using group discount, all members of the party will be considered one group contract and cannot be trained independently without creating a separate individual contract; this includes businesses. Standard Price: $15 Test and T-shirt Price: $10 Group Discount: $10 per group member Added Day Discount: $5 off each added day Business Discount: $10 per head for EST (Environmental Specific Training)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, everyone I initially work with will fill out a waiver and a questionnaire about physical stats just so that I have an idea about their ability and experience. Then after accessing their information, I will explain the basis of where they will start in the program. Every person is different, and we consider every person unique, so there is no "one size fits all" training here.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been training in martial arts for all my life ranging from informal training to training at an MMA gym known as Roufusport, and I have received an exponential amount of training and experience from my time in the military. While I was in the military, part of my job was to teach hand-to-hand combat to different units. I have trained hundreds of people, and sometimes those masses came down to having 120 people per class. Because of that experience, I am very comfortable with teaching others in any circumstance. After my time in the military, I taught many others self-defense, and due to my experience from learning both in gyms and in real-life environments, I have learned how to construct real-world scenarios to increase training proficiency. I also have experience working with survivors of violent situations, and I was certified in the military to deal with sexual, domestic, and psychological abusive cases.
