Introduction: I bring over 20 years of professional restaurant experience, including menu creation and event catering, but without the pretentious attitude of many experienced chefs. I am able to confidently serve any level of dining experience, with an unparalleled level of personal attention and communication, and a friendly smile. I am passionate about not only the creation of food but the experience of it. Special diets, like low-calorie, low-sodium, low-carb, low-fat, etc, are my forte, as well as vegan dining. I believe that eating healthily doesn't mean boring and low-flavor meals. My job as a chef is to let the food speak. Let the food feed the body but also nourish the soul. I believe that just because your life is busy, it doesn’'t mean it can’'t be special.

Ben - While I have not had the opportunity to experience your cooking, I have reviewed your profile and was very impressed with all of the pictures of your amazing creations. You are clearly playing into your passion and I look forward to one day experiencing of Chef Ben's creations!

I've known Ben for over 20 years. I have worked with him for several years in our Grand Marais restaurant, The Pie Place Cafe. Ben Zang is a passionate and eclectic chef with an adventurous palate and the experience to realize his vision efficiently. He works fast, is very inventive with ingredients and yet is efficient and economical with food management. He created a memorable Valentine's dinner just before moving to Milwaukee. I miss his creativity and adventurous spirit.

We have had the pleasure of knowing Ben for many years and enjoying his incredibly wonderful food. He uses locally grown whenever possible and everything is made fresh. In addition, he is very creative and loves experimenting with different flavors and textures. He has made some of the best dishes we have ever had using a combination of ingredients that we would never have dreamed would go together so well! Eating one of Ben’s meals is always a culinary delight!
