Introduction: For over 20 years I have been teaching students from age 8 to almost 80. In addition to my home studio I now offer online lessons using Zoom and FaceTime. I work very hard to adjust my teaching style to meet the needs and learning styles of my students. Everyone comes to music with different strengths. I believe in teaching all my students to read music with ease and fostering their love and appreciation of many styles of music. For my voice students - I utilize a wide variety of repertoire including American folk song, art song, and music theatre. I introduce the International Phonetic Alphabet and offer coaching in French, German, Italian, and Latin. I am a member of the American Guild of Musical Artists, National Association of Teachers of Singing, and the Milwaukee Music Teachers Association. I have adjudicated for NATS, the WSMA Solo and Ensemble and Concert Choir Festivals, the National Federation of Music Clubs, Florida Vocal Association, and Florida Association of Christian Schools and Colleges. For my piano students - I primarily utilize the Faber and Faber and Alfred’s piano methods and will help you develop strength and technique through Finger Power, Hanon, etc. I am fully vaccinated and following all CDC guidelines. I will continue to wear a mask and ask all unvaccinated students to wear one as well. I love helping students discover their innate musical abilities. Whether you want to play or sing for pleasure or aspire to be a performer I am here to help you succeed. Please reply to schedule a 30 minute $25 sample lesson.

Piano Lessons

Even though we had just 1 session so far I can already tell she’s an awesome teacher. She is very detailed and patient with me, I would highly recommend 10/10.

Dr Richie has a high level of experience and expertise but also does a great job relating to beginners in the study of voice. She is very encouraging, provides clear explanations and inspires singers to push themselves to the next level. I highly recommend Dr Richie for anyone seeking excellence in a voice teacher!
