FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our prices are competitive with other contractors. We're not the highest, and we're not the lowest. With Finesse Touch you have the peace of mind that customer satisfaction is our #1 goal. You also have the added protection of liability insurance, workers' compensation coverage, and a 2-year written warranty.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Dear Customer, The following will answer many questions you may have about the painting of your home. My goal is to deliver what I promise: “A High Quality Job at a Reasonable Price.” I also want to make this job run as efficient as possible. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE INFORMATION BELOW. A. TO REACH ME: The best phone line to reach me is my cell phone, located on the proposal and contract; please feel free to call at any time for any reason. B. YOUR JOB SITE MANAGER: Each crew is led by a JSM. Their primary role is to act as a contact point for the customer and to be responsible for the crew and the job at hand. All JSM’s are fully trained and very courteous individuals. Please direct all questions to the JSM first. Of course, you can always get in touch with me, but they are trusted “right-hand” people and are perfectly competent to answer any needs and essentially take over the site once they begin work. C. SCHEDULING: Although we can give you an approximate start date, we can rarely give you an exact date until we are finished with jobs prior to yours. Weather, additional coats, or any unforeseen circumstances can affect completion of the prior job. We are very flexible with 3 full painting crews and maintain a very tight schedule during the entire summer. D. COLORS: Please have the colors chosen ONE WEEK before work is to begin. This will allow us to perform a test patch on your house to ensure you are satisfied with the color. The test patch will allow you to see the actual color on your home in a larger area, and it helps to determine if the desired paint will cover the existing color in one coat. You can match a color using our Sherwin Williams color fan, or give me a sample color to use and I will match it for you at Sherwin Williams. Old paint cans are a valuable source to utilize in the matching process. I will try my hardest to ensure you are satisfied with the color of your house. This may be a 2-3 step process, that is why I am here and I understand completely the importance of the correct color. E. WASHING: All of the (Exterior) jobs we do include power washing. Power washing will create a clean surface for the paint to BITE into. The washing will take place several days before the crew arrives. I will likely perform a paint test patch at this time; this is why it is important you have a color picked out one week prior to production, in case we need to try a few alternative color samples. The washing is not meant to remove chipping or peeling paint, only to clean the surface of loose dirt. Items such as cobwebs are waterproof and may not be removed. F. BUSHES AND OTHER OBSTACLES: Please take time to check bushes and shrubs surrounding your home to see if they may inhibit the painters. If you can prune these brushes before the crew arrives, it would be helpful; otherwise we will pull them back and cover them with drop-cloths. G. BAD WEATHER: We want to deliver the best job possible to you. At the same time, we know when it is “safe” to paint. In the event of steady rain, the crew will obviously not be coming out to work; however, most every other environment is suitable for painting. H. WINDOWS: Although paint dries to the touch in several hours, it does not fully cure for about one to two weeks. YOU MUST OPEN YOUR WINDOWS ONCE A DAY FOR THE NEXT WEEK AFTER THEY ARE PAINTED to ensure they will not stick shut. We will leave the windows open before we leave. I. DOORS. Your doors should be left open 3-4 hours after painting to allow them to dry. A small strip of Vaseline around the edge after it has dried can prevent sticking. J. CUSTOMER FEEDBACK: I love to hear how my crews are doing. Your feedback allows me to keep a grasp on my business. Please call me with comments, concerns, and of course compliments. I always enjoy reference letters, which may be mailed to my address, located on the contract. K. 2-YEAR WARRANTY: All work is guaranteed against peeling, blistering, and cracking. The warranty is for the workmanship provided by College Pro. Thank you for your time. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There will be a trained Job Site Manager in charge of every job. He/she will be on site and available to answer questions while the job is in progress. The Crew Supervisor will check in via phone and also visit the crew multiple times during the job.
