About this pro
Over the last several years, we've hired Castlerock Painting & Finishing for all our remodeling. That has included repairing and refinishing the entire 1st floor (walls, ceilings, real-wood woodwork) and finishing a second-story addition (from unfinished drywall forward). Of all the work done, my personal favorite has been the texturing. In addition to hiding imperfect surfaces, it's unusual and looks great with or without the pearlescent glaze. Although, my preference is 'with the glaze', as it adds much depth and character to the texture. Overall, it adds a touch of 'classy' to an otherwise ordinary room.Oct 11, 2010

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? It's not all that complicated, there is none. It always depends on the job. Some jobs are cheaper, depending on the condition of the walls, woodwork etc. Some are more expensive due to more repairs, its just that simple.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? Not really- I just keep up with the latest products, and keep re-inventing new paint finishes and techniques. I do have quite an extensive collection of books on various painting and wood-graining techniques also that I refer to from time to time.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I've always enjoyed painting and creating new finishes and formerly was an oil painter on canvas.
