Amazing experience so far! The trainer is the best. My dogs have been "trained" by other trainers - it was very negative and unsuccessful. I'm so thankful I found Sunset- very positive and extremely effective.

I hired Kim to help me train my young puppy whom I'd already somewhat spoiled. I was looking for help with puppy biting and jumping, setting rules and making him understand them and sticking to obedience training, which I find sorta boring. Kim was working the second she stepped through my door, showing me how to deal with the jumping and explaining my dog's body signals to me. She was funny and interesting to work with, not only told me what to do but WHY it works and went a step beyond what I'd gotten from trainers in dog class as far as connecting the pieces for me. She demoed every trick and technique she was showing me and made me feel like I can easily incorporate her tips into our daily life. I am very excited that I now have a more interesting approach to training my pup. I was a bit overwhelmed by all the information at the end of our time together and I think Kim could tell because she summed up what things I will need to work on with him. She gave me a clear plan of when I'd hear from her next so we could discuss challenges and progress and gave me options for working for her in the future if I chose to. I am definitely going to work with Kim again to see if I can improve the relationship between my dog and my boyfriend's dog and teach my pup how to nicely walk on a loose leash.

I have owned my dog for just over a year and over all is a good dog, however, she is a barker and is "aggressive" with other dogs and people who walk by. She was hard to walk on a leash due to her pulling and constant barking at other dogs, rabbits, leaves or anything moving for that matter. I have tried other training methods including classes, pinch collars, and books. ... nothing worked. Within 5 mins of Tim being here, not only was I confident but so was my dog. After our session I am seeing a calm and controlled dog and I am comfortable with my dog. Thank you Tim so much for your help. You are truly amazing and a real life dog whisperer. I look forward to working with you again.

As a first time dog owner I have learned that the process to a well behaved dog is the training of both the dog AND the owners. Our rescue one year old Birder Collie/Australian Shepard mix was pretty well behaved indoors and in our yard but had a very aggressive issue when meeting new digs and people. He could not be trusted to not bite either. After one session with Lynn and homework he was 100% better. After the second session I have little fear of having a problem. Buddy still needs some work however the change has been dramatic. Lynn comes to your home with written plans and homework assignments. Hire Lynn, you will not be disappointed. Jeff Wadsworth

Michelle is an absolute wonderful trainer.........my 2 dogs have completely flipped 100% into completely different dogs.......when my 2 dogs first met Michelle they literally wanted to attack/ kill her .......we have been working with Michelle for 3 lessons. Both my dogs now can be approached by Michelle with no problems what so ever......they give kisses ....let her let them .....i can now walk both of them at the exact same time with no issues of pulling me......let me remind you my dogs are 80lbs and 105lbs ......so to be able to now walk both with out them pulling me is a miracle !!! We've had issues with our dog Hayzel being aggressive when it came to meeting new people and Michelle has been working with us to improve that and take it away completely......i am sooooooo Happy to have found Michelle to help me with both of our dogs !!!!! I don't know what I would do with out her ......probably be stressed out big time !!! She's amazing and she knows exactly what she's doing, so if you're looking for someone who is willing to help you please choose Michelle!!! She is our Miracle !!! 🤗🤗

Rick is a great trainer he helped our dog abby to once again enjoy the dog park. She had a bad experience last year and became very aggressive with other dogs. Thanks to Rick she has started to trust again and I can take her to the park which she loves. Rick has become abby's best friend she could not wait to see him after the first session and every session after that. Rick is a great trainer and you can tell he loves his work and he loves and knows dogs. Great job Rick I

Have not experienced Carols expertise on dog training yet, but thumbtack app wants me to rate anyways. Carol has gone out of her way to contact me for a phone converstion and has been very patient w my unavailabilty. As for thumbtacts rating i would say 3 stars which a 5 star waiting for the app to allow u to schedule these appointments threw the app making all the phone calls a unnessacary step. Hope to see u soon ped pet dog training !

Sarah is a joy to work with. You can tell she truly loves dogs, and knows what she is doing. She has great experience, comes prepared, and doesn't have to stick to the same old same old if something in particular doesn't seem to be working. I am going in for a shoulder surgery in January, and I can trust my almost 100 pound puppy won't be pulling my arm off after I get it fixed. And this is only after 3 sessions! But as she says, you need to be willing to work with the dog and give the time it takes to train him/her. She is by far one of the best train the trainers I have ever gotten to work with.

In the first year of his life, my Great Dane had worked his way through two dog trainers and five dog walkers. The latest trainer- a certified animal behaviorist, had recommended we put out 9 month old puppy on prozac. My husband and I were against the idea, but decided to have the conversation with our vet. He absolutely refused and then recommended we talk to Kyra. Fast forward two years. Thanks to Kyra (and Comfy K9s) we watched our misunderstood, misbehaved puppy grow into a respectful, loving, well behaved family member. When it comes to training, except to work. Kyra takes her role very seriously. She won’t let you fail your dog. The number one thing that separates her from any other trainer, behaviorist, dog walker- I've worked with is her passion. She wants to help and she'll get it done any way it takes. She reads. She studies. She asks questions. The training is customized to your dog’s individual needs. And, she truly cares about you and your dog. When everyone gave up on our dog, she was there. She’s reliable. I know I can call her anytime and Comfy K9s will take care of us. (They're actually on my emergency contact list!) Kyra is trustworthy. She’s genuine. She will make your dog shine.

I did board and train with my girl Lucy. It was pricey but it was the best money I ever spent on my dog. I have been to 2 other trainers prior to meeting Kristi. She really helped me with Lucy wanting to drag me on walks and bark and lunge at other dogs and people. I now enjoy walks. If you want training from Canine Composure just bite the bullet and do it. Not only did she fix my dog but she also really helped me.

    About

Mindful Dog Training provides a customized program tailored to you and your dog. We address the imediate concerns while also building on the basics that will serve as the frame work for the relationship and perhaps more advanced training for fun or utility. My most commonly used approach is: See, Mark, Reward, (see a good behavior, mark it with verbal cue and reward with praise-pets- and treats) but also often use combinations of tools and techniques as the situation requires. Every dog is different, every situation is different. Some dogs would greatly benefit from a group class, but need help getting under control enough to attend class. We work together to get your pack on track and then explore what local resources you would need or simply like to use. If you have an extreme situation I have contacts with specialists in the area and will happily refer you to them. One size rarely fits all. Most important is - that you and your pack get the answers you need, I am a lighthouse on the journey.

She is unlike any trainer we've worked with -- she understands exactly what each individual dog needs and trains US how to transform our companions into best-behaved pets possible.

Jennifer is a great trainer, very insightful in the ways that dogs think and feel. My dog and I have attended training classes before, but there were a few behaviors I wanted to work on. Working one on one and at home is great, as there are less distractions than working in a large class. In all a very positive experience for my dog and I; he gets rewarded for his good behavior and I'm less stressed because he's doing what I want him to do! Jennifer's positive reenforcement methods are easy to learn and work great!
