FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is very simple. I search for the best rate I can find for each client. I do NOT mark up any prices as I'm paid a commission from most suppliers. The exception is for handling vacations that consist of flights only where I charge a service fee as the airlines do not pay commission. On complex requests such as groups and weddings I provide the first 30 minutes of my time on a complimentary basis and after that I charge a service fee that is refunded when the client purchases the trip.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend travel related updates on destinations and major suppliers several times each year. In a typical year I spend 8 to 10 full days in training. Each week I also participate in online training for several hours.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After spending years managing major technical projects it became clear that I was good at planning. Travel planning seems like a great fit.
